Build Log

Cherry Bomb and Cherry Bomber EDF

Hi Guys

Here's one that we found in an old magazine and thought it might be a nice one to build in Depron (or foam board)

I made the fuselage a little higher in the hope that it can be a SOG

I used 6mm Depron for mine, if you are using foam board or any 5 mm board, make the formers 2mm wider

Specs:

Wing span: 985mm (38.75 " )
Length 855mm (34.6inches)
Material: 6mm Depron or MPF (approx one and a half full sheets) 1000 x 700 sheet
Servo’s: 3 x HXT900 9g (or similar)
Motor: D2826-6 ... 2200kv Outrunner Motor (or similar)
ESC: TURNIGY Plush 40amp Speed Controller (or similar)
Prop: 6x4E propeller (or similar)
Estimated weight: 500 - 550 grams (17.6 – 19.4 oz) with 1500 battery

Plans are now available at: http://www.lockeysrcplans.com

Say that's an oldy but a goody !

I recall seeing that one as I have a big collection of old RCM mags.

I also HOPE it'll slide on ground for take offs.

You are starting to amass quite a repertoire of designs.
Good show :-)

When cows fly!
Looks like a nice simple design! Hmmmm, I am pretty sure I could still crash it! Needs a rudder! And a fast motor

Locky , if you send it I will add it to the long list of your designs that I offer a cutting service for

You're always so generous with your creations.

Thanks

My wife started with a slinger fuselage cut out and then we put on a delta wing and Vtail. Looks a lot like your plane. Runs great, can tolerate a lot of power. I have a 12" prop on mine so can't belly take off. Landings are super stable.

Yours should run great.

Looks great basicguy, V tail looks nice ... must try a V tail one day

Sounds like your wife is one clever lady .. wish I could find a lady with some aero-modelling skills and interest ... any takers

More build, all up to this stage I have spent about 6 hours (including cutting out) I have made a few mods to the plans / patterns so would recommend downloading the new plans before building

If you don't feel confident rolling over the KFm airfoil, simply cut it off and glue it on top and then sand the leading edge ... I cocked mine up and had to cut it off and glue and sand the leading edge
