new SIG Somethin Xtra

Anyone else fly this plane?
Maiden it today and my instant favorite! Flies like no other plane in my hangar, has such presence and power.
Flying electric version, specs here:
Cobra 4120-12 KV850
14x8 prop
80amp ESC
4000mah 4S

Maiden flight was an anxious affair.

Looks like you already posted to an existing thread on this plane.

A guy I know has a nitro powered version & it flys great.
I have this one on my want list, but I have to hold off until I sell one of my planes to make room for it.

SIG Somethin' Xtra ARF

Thanks, Leadpan! The new SIG Somethin' Xtra ARF is one of the most popular SIG planes currently being made. RC pilots LOVE them!

I must forgot. I googled SIG Xtra on rcgroups; only found a builder's discussion so I created this one.
I can't explain it but this plane handles very differently then my foamie planes. It even sounds different during a pass (friends on field noted). I've seen lots of gas version of this plane; worried it might be under-powered. But no, with my setup it's a beast!

walter, this is the ARF I got. Then added my own 850kv motor and esc. Noticed the Hobbywing 80a ESC get hot! Might need different esc?

I think the kit version might be in my future. I really like sig planes. Just built a king Kobra with retracts and have the wonder kit in the shop now. Nice stuff.

Hard landing today testing flaps, plane okay but broke the wooden motor mount. Where can I get a spare wooden motor mount?

You're using flaperons on this plane ?
The one a friend has, slows down plenty for landing.
I feel flaperons would just be asking for trouble.
