Any idea on spare batteries for this quad? I mean, other than the Hubsan versions. Always nice to have more than one source or batteries.

Guys do you know if the built-in camera has better quality than a Xiaomi Yi?

No, definitely not. The H502 models only have a 720P camera.

So Finally Gearbest decreased their price to 189$ for this quad. I am expecting a price drop by banggood as well.

So I got my H502E, and in the interests of modding it, I've disassembled it and taken photos of the boards. It appears there is a video transmitter on the main board but missing the antenna connector on the opposite side. Any comments on these photos are appreciated to help me understand what mods are possible using the existing components.

Well probably the same PDB board, but not sure the VTX part is still here

I don't think you'll find spare props available until the product has actually been released, since the H502E isn't actually available to the public yet.

With the HUGE advantage of brushless, why settle for this over the 501s? Seems the price difference doesn't justify the camera and motor downgrade.

Thanks for the info there, hadn't heard of that one.

Yeh I agree that doesn't look so good - 1080 should be crystal clear and better than a DVD ..

It's using MJPEG to encode. It'll never look amazing. H264 is so far beyond the compression ratio and quality that MJEPG can achieve it isn't even funny. That being said, the KodoHD is in an entirely different price-class at $60 RTF, and I find the footage perfectly acceptable for that price point. It can be easily massaged in post-process to make it more watchable.
