3D printed YAK 54 cowl inlet
Got a 3d printer recently. One thing that has always bugged me about the Yak is the way the "inlet vanes" look in the front of the cowl. No amount of cutting and trimming looked really good to me. So I decided to print one.
I printed this with ABS plastic filament and the total weight is 23g. The material I removed from the fiberglass cowl weighed 13g. So, the net weight gain is 10g, not including glue and paint. To install, all you have to do is cut a hole in the cowl and glue the ring in place. I used hot glue, but epoxy is fine. If you are interested in buying one please go to the thread below.
