My landing tape is too short.

If one doesn't have an altitude switch that records altitude, are there some that can be borrowed for the event?

Yes of course!
Many of us have extra's and back up's that you can use.

It's a really fun, low key contest.

For ALES you don't need a recording altimeter, just a cut-off limiter.
CAM is the simplest and most popular one.
I have a spare CAM you can borrow!

I have a spare as well - I think there are plenty of ALES devices available for 'temporary loan'.
So don't let that stop you - if you're tired of winter and want to get some flying in - come down east!

I have at extra Cam also. But more about the contest. As Gary said it's a laid back slower pace if you what to fly that way. But on the other hand there will be several pilots that won't leave much room at the top. If you can take first place against this bunch you can consider yourself one of the best in the country.

Yes it does! And if we are able to attend this year, Nick will share in the driving... He's got his learners permit.

sounds like a great trip to practice driving! I hope I can drive down too. It will likely be too cold still to fly here in April.

That would be pretty cool to have 3 people from Massachusetts go... But we are still up in the air.

We where talking at the field yesterday about having trouble seeing our planes. Now that I am getting older my vision has been getting a little worse each season.. I have invested in very good prescription sunglasses but still my eyes just hurt by the end of the day and headlights at night are becoming a real problem on the back country two lane roads.
The subject was more about color of you plane to help see it at distance. I have some planes that are better than others not sure why.The chrome reflective doesn't really help me. Any color turns dark and all white is bad.

How was the field yesterday, Brady?
We flew at the FM and had fun too.

Pilots, lets get signed up! Only 2 months before the event now.

Kenny, Rick, I am counting on you. You need to get to a warmer place for a weekend in April!
