Thanks Peter. The 3S 1300mAh will probably be my most used size, for now.

The 5S craziness begins:

With 6" props 145A peak and 80-100A continuous on the straight before it ran out of room, and only 2min15sec flight time with less than a handful punchouts. Forget about the peak current which calculates to over 2400W. Even at 80A continuous at 3.5V, that's 1400W continuous, on a 545g AUW quad that has a frontal area close to a piece of A4/letter size paper.

I think I'll settle with 5" props with a "mere" 120A peak.

Just received a few China Hobby Line G+ packs at their sale mostly out of interest because I've read good experience with them and want to find if it's all hype. I've got some 4S 70C 1300 and 4S 100C 1300. They came in at 3.88-3.89V which IMO is a little high for storage voltage. Since they came in from US warehouse thru' ground shipping I guess they aren't affected by the 30% charge rule.

I haven't cycled them yet but initial IRs even the 100C pack show they are no match to Turnigy Graphene 65C 1300s compare to when I picked up my TGs at lower ambient. The 100C pack has slightly lower IRs than the 70C but I'll cycle them a few times to see if they improve. Weight is all over the place. A 70C 1300 weighs 167g, another weighs 174g, while the 100C weighs 171g, lighter than a 70C!

Interestingly, the 100C has a long-slim form factor while the 70C is chubby one like the Turnigy Graphene. With the cell terminals NOT on opposite ends of each other, I believe a short wide cell should yield higher current and puts even stress on the electrodes. I guess time will tell if the 100C will deliver and last compare to the 70C pack.

Are these still the go-to packs nowadays?
Been out of the loop for awhile!

For some yes, for los of others I think the tide is turning and new packs from vendors such as Tatu andothers are starting to gain popularity as alternatives

If you need the highest possible voltage under load for the entire flight IE any high draw or racing application then yes, these also retain really good ir and capacity numbers even after hundreds of cycles so you can always relegate them to sport and scale planes down the road.

I've tried tattu and was unimpressed, they seem to use lower grade cells in them similar to some of my lion power eBay packs. I think a Graphene with 200+cycles would have no problem outperforming a new tattu.

I see.. Cheers!
Probably pick a few packs up, glad to see they're not backordered in EU.

That's fantastic. 240C peak. You can just complete your 15 second flight before the XT60 connectors have had time to melt and drip off the wires.

Kind of ironic the availability date.

My guess is that the 240C peak load sounds like a fart of a Tyrannosaurus!

Grabbed two 2200mah 65c 5S for only $32 a battery. That's cheaper per mah than the 1300mah 65c 4S! Seems they went back up in price though.

These things are crazy powerful.

long term experience with graphene professional?

anyone got long term experience with graphene professional 15C lipos, please?
How is IR, how many cycles, capacity?
From others' comments it would be nice to know if the lipos were bought from first batch available or at later point.
Cheers

Hey Ian. Any chance we can get some half sizes graphene ? Like a 6s 3500-3750 mah
6s 2500/2800 mah and a 6s4500 mah ??? These would be good fit for logo series helicopters. I d much rather buy graphene vs pulse non graphene packs

Yeah the Logo 400 has similar flight pack requirement as my MSH Protos so 6S 2400-2700 would be good accounting for the heavier Turnigy Graphene compare to common lipos, but I don't know how popular this pack size market is.
