TRACE Intelligent Systems Partners With ImmerVision to Make Action Video Content Trul

Draganflyer Commander

TRACE develops Immersive 360-Degree Video Applications for use in both Commercial and Consumer Quadcopter Product Line with the collaboration of ImmerVision

VENICE, CALIFORNIA & TORONTO, ONTARIO – Jan. 5, 2016

TRACE Intelligent Systems, developer of The TRACEr1 – a visually intelligent camera capable of following its owner almost anywhere and live-streaming captured footage to the internet – announced today, a partnership with the leader in 360-degree panoramic imaging, ImmerVision.

Shareable Captured Video Made Truly ‘Immersive’

TRACE will integrate 360-degree panomorph optics and ImmerVision Enables 2.0 fully immersive content navigation functionalities and cross-platform compatibility into a selection of its visually intelligent auto-follow FLYr drones in order to unlock truly next-generation immersive content.

By combining the FLYr’s auto-follow capability and live streaming network with ImmerVision Enables 2.0, TRACE will position to become the first drone manufacturer to allow viewers of action footage to truly experience what their friends, idols and favorite athletes are experiencing via virtual reality, as they’re being autonomously followed and filmed.

Remote viewers of live-streamed footage will be able to immerse themselves, like never before, in experiences such as chasing an all-star running back down field as he takes the ball across the goal line or “flying” behind a snowboarder as she carves her way down a steep mountain slope, and be able to look in any direction and take in the surrounding scene simply by tilting their mobile device or moving their line of sight within a virtual reality headset.

Commercial Use of ImmerVision Technology in Draganflyer Drones

TRACE will also integrate ImmerVision Enables technology with its commercial Draganflyer quadcopters. In addition, panomorph lens technology will be offered on Draganflyer quadcopters. Draganflyer pilots will benefit from the amplified wide-angle sense of scope enabling increased data collection and fully immersive navigation within live or recorded 360 imagery captured during flight.

Commercial drone use-cases will see the time required to perform an aerial scan of any area significantly reduced through the ability of the panomorph lens to capture exceptionally wide fields of view. Users will have the ability to fully immerse themselves in live or captured footage, navigating without distortion, and on any computing device, using digital pan-tilt-zoom actions, ensuring nothing important is ever missed.

TRACE Intelligent Systems & ImmerVision will be showcasing their integrated solution during January’s CES 2016 event in Las Vegas.

uAvionix and Trace’s Draganfly Innovations Team Up to Improve Drone Safety with Ping ADS-B Sense and Avoid

Draganfly Surveyor is ADS-B

New software demonstrates for the first time drone operators safely navigating the same airspace as manned aircraft with Ping’s real time mapping technology.

Silicon Valley, CA & Saskatoon, SK – December 22nd, 2015 – uAvionix Corporation, the leader in aircraft sense and avoid, and Draganfly Innovations Inc., the world renowned longest-running manufacturer of multi-rotors, maker of the first civilian drone to be credited with saving a life, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Trace Intelligent Systems, today announced the successful integration of uAvionix’ Ping ADS-B receiver with Draganfly’s auto-pilot and Surveyor ground station.

Integrated on the vehicle itself, the system presents new ways to improve drone and aviation safety by providing the ability to detect full size aircraft and automatically avoid a potential collision.

This is the first step in integrating drones in the national airspace using the existing ADS-B infrastructure. The Ping network uses live aircraft traffic without relying on a connection to the internet or cellular networks.

“We are thrilled to be working with sUAS pioneer, Draganfly Innovations. Their continued passion to integrate new technologies that provide a robust user experience is unsurpassed. This step further demonstrates their commitment to lead the way towards a safer airspace”, said Adam Paugh, uAvionix’ Director of Business Development.

“Draganfly has been looking for a solution to ‘sense and avoid’ for some time”, Zenon Dragan, President of Draganfly commented. “The integration of Ping went very smoothly and our Surveyor ground station came alive with nearby traffic. We were surprised to see even non-cooperative traffic broadcast from our local ground station radar, which makes this system a comprehensive solution to sensing full scale traffic.”

This is the first of many steps that uAvionix and Draganfly will take jointly to improve drone and aviation safety.

Draganfly Innovations Inc. Launches ‘The Draganflyer Commander’ UAV Bringing Next Generation Performance & Endurance to Commercial Users

Draganflyer Commander
The Draganflyer Commander Opens Numerous New Commercial Use Cases with Enhanced Specification Including 45-Minute Single-Charge Flight, 100 Acre Coverage, and HD Aerial Data Capture.

SASKATOON, SK & VENICE, CALIFORNIA – OCTOBER 6th, 2015 – Commercial UAV specialists Draganfly Innovations Inc. – the wholly-owned commercial division of TRACE Live Network – today announced the launch of its newest and most advanced multi-rotor UAV to date, the Draganflyer Commander.

The design and engineering of the Draganflyer Commander has enabled a specification beyond any of the company’s previous award-winning UAVs. The single-charge 45 minute flight time opens significant new commercial use cases within law enforcement, search and rescue, mapping, agriculture, aerial imaging, and beyond, further strengthening Draganfly Innovations’ position as the leading supplier of multi-rotor helicopters for commercial use.

Enhanced Duration

The Draganflyer Commander is able to remain in-flight longer than any previous Draganflyer, achieving up to 45 minutes of continuous flight with each charge. Compared to its predecessor, the X4-ES, the Commander’s unloaded flight time has increased by 50% and loaded flight time by 75%.

Enhanced Capability

With stronger motors the maximum payload of the Draganflyer Commander is 1000g (2.2 pounds), 25% greater than the Draganflyer X4-ES. The integrated terrain sensor adds smooth auto-takeoff and auto-landing capability. New dynamic flight time prediction displays the remaining flight time while the Draganflyer Commander is in the air, measuring power consumption, monitoring remaining battery capacity, and updating in real-time.

Enhanced Safety

Having been developed with innovative dual battery and advanced battery management systems, in the unlikely event of a battery failure, the Draganflyer Commander will maintain flight on the remaining pack. The battery packs have intelligent protection electronics, integrated state-of-charge LED display, and an NFC interface allowing users to check charge status and charge history with the DraganflyNFC app on a tablet or phone. A strengthened airframe ties all of the components together and increases stability and safety.

Draganfly Innovations Inc. founder and president, Zenon Dragan said, “At Draganfly we focus on continuously innovating in order to maximize the performance with every new product we launch. We’re incredibly proud of the Draganflyer Commander and believe it has the potential to further accelerate the already significant growth in commercial use of UAVs.”

TRACE Live Network CEO Cameron Chell said of the launch, “The Draganflyer Commander represents a significant advancement in the commercial UAV space and through the integrated engineering and business development teams we now have in place, there is an opportunity to ride the momentum of these advancements in both the commercial and consumer markets.
