PNW Slope Thread

A couple of us thought a place for us Seattle area guys to talk slope trash might be fun so here we go.

Saturday 5 of us (plus family members) met at Ft Casey on Whidbey Island. Wind ~20, right on the bluff. About as nice as it gets there. Here's a video from Lee's phone, he's got a bunch of picts to put up too.

Nice work RJ. Was great to get you, Chris B and Banks to join us on Saturday. Bill, Halle and I flew till sunset and it just kept getting better.

I was happy to get a successful maiden of my new molded flying wing

Here are a couple of pics and the other half of that video showing the S.S. Sloper...

It's a porker dlg fuse, Bart wing (zone v2 foils) laid up with 5oz carbon and heavy spar. Modified V tail from Lee, About 16 Oz iirc, but even that light penetrated nicely and kept decent energy. Could maybe handle just a bit more wind. Overall I was pretty happy with it

Make them all the same and paint them identical. Get us all out there and well all start doing half pipes and see who looses theirs first

Those wings definitely have some get up and go.

That Zone wing is the real deal on the slope. The airframe looks pretty cool, Is the tail moment back pretty close to DLG length?

Oops, sorry . It was kind of a late minute thing. Hopefully this thread will help communications.

Baby yet?

@ Ploof - Yes, tail moment is pretty much DLG.

I can see one of those rippin's holes in weasel butts, Zagi wings and other foamies on POTM slopes.
