Well maybe not rare, but lets say you can't buy this on the market!

My flat-plate delta-plane!

Setup:

2s1p 1200mAh Kokam pack
CN12-R-XC 7.2v motor
3x2 prop
Draganeye servos
Hitec Rx
Cheap 5A ESC

Flies extremely well - very smooth in the air, control inputs give very accurate results. Good range of speed. Performance starts to sag after 10 minutes (probably my old battery!), but had a comfortable 18 minute flight with the odd stop here and there. Easy to hand catch. Easy to hand launch using balsa wood keel underneath.

Construction materials: 7mm polystyrene sheeting (the white crumbly polystyrene) for the wing, 1/8" balsa wood for the elevons and fins. Zagi-style covering tape for fins, wing and elevons. 4x0.5mm wide CF reinforcement strips run (vertically) the width of the widest part of the wing at the back, and straight down the centre line of the wing. Also there're two similar CF strips stuck flat against the top of the wing at the front for impact absorbtion!

All up weight = 155g

Took an evening to build

Im Guessing that a Sorta Grumman Goose is not a common plane ..

All bluecor Construction .. Plane is self designed ..
I am running 2 Razor 350 brushless motors in GWS eps gear boxes .. C gearing with 9x7 3 blade props .. speed control is a Phoenix 25 in a watertight bluecor box .. reciever is a GWS 4 channel servos are 1 HS-55 and one GWS pico..
Batteries .. two 3 cell etec 1200 Li-poly packs

Wingspan is 36 inches .. controls are rudder elevator
With fresh packs she will ROW in roughly 25-30 feet

Heres the build and design thread with video links ..Bluecor Grumman Goose Thread

Hope this is what you were looking for

Here's my $10 e-Gremlin, made with a Canadian PVC downspout for a fuse (lighter & thinner). Wing is the same size as the original combat plane, 48" span, root chord of 12", tip of 10", 2" elevons. The fins are 2mm coroplast. Took just an evening to build, flown the next day.

I simply transcribed the wing dimensions on a 1" slab of pink insulation foam, and cut the outline. The rest is done outside. Using a soldering iron, I carve a slot to bury and glue a 30" carbon arrow shaft on the underside. I also ran some 1" fibre tape spanwise both sides. I used a 2-D cell portable hot-wire foam cutter (from Michael's) to chamfer the leading and trailing edges.

The 'cutting edge' is only a couple of inches long. Drawing some lines about 2" back from the edge helps guiding the tool, as well as using a 1/2" aluminum rod on the edge to prevent cutting too deep. Then I used a palm sander to finish it off. Took about two minutes and minimal dust to get it to a semi-symmetrical TLAR airfoil. I did sand the trailing edge a bit more on one side (bottom-tip/top-root) to create a bit of washout. It's actually quite flat on a good portion of the cross-section.

Put some captive nuts in 1/16" plywood that was taped and glued to the underside for mounting to the fuse. Elevons were made out of 3/16" foamboard (with the paper on it for stiffness). I also taped control rod tubing to the leading edge to make it 'ding-proof'. I used vapor barrier tape (tuck tape) for covering the wing & elevons. It's very stiff tape with a very good adhesive, if you don't mind red with logo printing.

Powered with an AXI 2820/10 on 9x1950 cells and an 11x7.5 folder, it flies like a bat at 50 oz. Roll rates are great. Flies easily at 50-60% throttle, and the climb rate at full throttle is great. Launching is an underhand throw at ~45 degrees, as there's nothing to grab underneath.
