"snow" screen is good
if it gets snowy as the signal gets weaker, a pilot can elect to turn around the aircraft before total loss of signal

if it goes from good picture to blue screen as the signal gets weaker, the pilot is lost!

that's why I asked, some inferior products will go to blue screen and that is NOT desirable!

It's a valid question as one of the problems that people highlighted with early HeadPlays (with built in VRx) is that they used a screen that drops the signal completely rather than going to a 'snow screen'. A firmware update now means that the Headplays are true snow (thanks to Daryoon for correcting me).

A little clarification to the above statement. The Headplay HD initially shipped with a bluescreening firmware. However, a firmware update allows it to go to true snow.

All the Headplay HD have been shipping already flashed with that new firmware for a while.

I will be attending the CFL-FPV event in late February.
If you send me a LCD5802D evaluation unit I will be glad to put it on display for others to see that weekend. I'm not much of a cameraman / reviewer so I can only offer display and feedback from the event attendees.

I don't like the cheesy sunshade on the AOMWAY LCD.

I own the 5802S from Eachine and it's amazing. The sunshade offers great protection agains scratches and the picture is bright and it just works.

That's one of the things I don't really like about this Aomway, just like the fact it doesn't come with a charger (eventhough I probably have something that will fit)
