Do you program those new small blheli ESC like the old ones with programming card?

I bought those
http://www.banggood.com/DYS-BL20A-Mi...-p-975798.html

and just connected them to my turnigy program card to program them but it doesn't light up.

Do we still program those like that or there is new way now?

i saw they sell this now
http://www.banggood.com/DYS-ESC-USB-...-p-982270.html

but thought it's just for reflashing the firmware?

Yes that should work.
Download the BLHeli Suite and un-zip the files. Then read the documents within to learn how and what.
Also READ the BLHeli Thread to learn more.

so all blheli ESC require this tool to connect?

those old programming cards are good for which ones?

I void warranties
That specific tool, no. It's actually just an arduino in a strange package. I don't own that thing and I connect to all my esc's with a $1.99 arduino nano v3.

I ordered it but since it's about 2 weeks away, can I fly with the default settings of those ESCs?

if you are running beta/cleanflight you can connect through your FC by having CF open, but not connected, and selecting CF from BLhelis interface menu.

Yeah, that may be so but in the first place I can't get Cleanflight installed, and second, I'm not so sure I want to..

I can use LibrePilot, Open Pilot, Dronin, and TAU Labs GCS software and I've tried every swear word (and we sailors know right many and in several languages), every mystical incantation, including the entire Egyptian Book of the Dead, and I've watched youtube until my eyes bled and I cannot get Cleanflight to connect to my CC3D.

And, through all of that I cannot get a DYS USB linker to connect to a brand new DYS SN20A BLHeli ESC.

Now what's up with that?

See "Configure Power System"

This is definitely the way to do it if you are running CF or BF and have a supported ESC.
