"Automatic Landing" LOL

Some guys out at the field built up foamy flying wings. They were finished with strapping tape. They would fly around trying to run into one another trying to knock em out of the sky. Ocasionaly they would make an "automatic landing".

Thing was they were practically indusctructible so just walk over pick it up and off you go.

But if your automatic landing is out in the middle of a freeway or something... Doh!

See yall are outdated. The next phase is to just sit around and watch them fly themselves!

This is already there since the vid shows the flight path can be programmed.

What caught my attention is the auto launch feature. I have a few planes (flying wings among them) with no landing gear that can be difficult to hand launch. I would love to use a receiver that had this feature. Take all of the drama out of hand launching that speedy wing. You could just throw the thing and then take over as soon as the radio was comfortable in your hands . I am also concerned about "drones for idiots" that supposedly anyone can fly. That can only encourage more people to fly where they should not be flying! I am also a little suspicious of the 45 min flight time.

Huh the guys I saw just grabbed a wing tip, wound it up, and flung it.

Not much drama there.

Then obviously those guys would have no need for the launch feature. I can and do hand launch planes that way, but, maybe one time in 10, I miss the stick and fly the damn thing into the ground before i can catch it. My Hadron is especially tricky to launch and I almost always get someone else to help me with it. If that feature was available in a receiver I would probably buy one.

Overprice Parrot Disco and its already outdated, you can home buid DIY a small 390gram Wing Wing Z-84 that flies 52.1km, runs 72 minutes (1 hour 12 minutes), complete with full automation more than what Disco does for only USD$290 or less budget building like in this thread here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=2725674

Video:
52.1km To the Edge - Mini UAV Wing Wing Z-84 second build. (1 hr 15 min 13 sec)

Now go make your own wings and save tonnes of money.
