Kansas City Area Outdoor Fly-In ( May 18 & 19)

Spring is not too far off, but I'm organizing an all kind electric fly-in for May 18th & 19th. I am posting this early so
I can get an idea of the interest out there for joining in. The RC
club (in which I'm a member) is considering letting us use the field
for the Sat. and for joint flying with the gassers on Sunday.
The Jayhawk Model Masters field is located about 30 miles west of K.C. Mo. in Lawrence Ks. next to the Clinton Lake dam.
The site has two 600' grass runways with the closest plane
snagging tree about 100 yards from the end of the N/S runway.
As final details become organized I will post updates, such as if the club will require a nominal landing fee and what I can work-
out for a Saturday lunch cookout (large permanent grill on site).
Lots of good motels in town for the two day non-campers.
Look up www.jmm.net for club web site or contact me at
Come and have some guiet fun (AMA membership required)

I'll send you a list of e-mail addresses of those
who come to the Ste. Genevieve E-fly so you can contact them.

It's quite early for me to commit but I'll mark my calendar for the event...as you know, work schedule always interferes with the hobby .

Tim & Ron :

Our indoor group decided on behalf of the Jayhawk Model
Masters that we have the all elect. fly-in on May 18th & 19th.
These dates allow the gassers to have their fly-in the previous
weekend ( May 11th ) and have May 4th to practice and trim-
out any new planes. Please pass the word.

Hope you can join in ( mark your calendar )

PS: Tim, I hope you will bring lots of your laser-cut goodies.
I'm getting low on the control horns and motor plates

May 18th & 19th is a go with the 25th & 26th as rain date
There will be a $5.00 landing fee with Jayhawk club members
doing a Sat. cookout with fair prices for burgers, dogs and brats,
Soft drinks , chips and morning wake-up dognuts.
Club rules require AMA card and radio impound

Since this is our first attempt, any suggestions are welcome.
Do you want part to be a fun fly? Flying jets thru hula-hoop ?
Combat pylon ? Fast & Low Limbo ? Whatever???
We can do what the gasser fun-fly have is the OUTHOUSE event where the winner is the one with the most "pieces" of the
plane staying in the box.

Vendors bring your plane stuff to sell and we'll have a "Trade
Blanket" area set up. Shop for new goodies or dump white
Come over and join us

I don't need an actual flyer but if you send me an email with the details and a web address with more information I'll forward it to the newsletter people at the three local RC clubs.

May 18th/19th Fly-in

Just a reminder to bring back to front page. It's still a go if the
weather will work with us. Check the www.jmm.net website for
the weather that weekend.

Yes still a go. I called up the long range weather forecast with
Sat. & Sun. 5 to 10 mph breeze and mostly sunny. Hope it
will stay that way.
