OK, It's Time!!

Initated by 56S's latest thread, I think it's time to wish all my friends (and family) here on LTUP a Most Excellent Christmas, and a fantastic 2016.

Have fun, one and all - and look after the things that matter!

I have started my Christmas season this morning at 08:00. I was to start vacation as of COB yesterday but went in this morning to do payroll and wish the hard working fellas a Merry Christmas.

Here's hoping all here get to enjoy the season and do something nice for others not as well off as most of us are.

Indeed!

Done our donations to 3 different things, 1 of which gives homeless people a Xmas meal, clean-up, and advice. Hopefully a few will enjoy some of the pleasures that we take for granted!

Other than my wedding day and the birth of the children one of the most satisfying times of my life was when I reached a point in my career when I could afford to give back. Giving is truly better than receiving. The best sleep aid I've ever found.

Norman, Good for you. You've figured it out.

Only if you choose to see it that way.

I have! The wife asked what I wanted she always gets me the wrong thing, though I appreciate the thought. Well a buddies brother wrecked his quad to avoid hitting the elderly family dog, long short he ended up shattering his knee and needing pins to keep it all in place, hasn't been able to work for 2 months now and he and his wife are stressing. Told the wife all I want is to give them some cash to get their kids some gifts to ease their stress.

I've got enough stuff. This is the best present I could ask for this year.

We've also taken kids names from an Angel tree, got 3 kids from the tree, 5, 7, and 17. We did customary PJ's for each, a toy for the 5 and 7 year old as well as a full outfit for each, and got the 17 year old the under he asked for and an iPod Shuffle with a $50 iTunes card. Were really at a loss for the 17 year old but music seemed fitting.

Shame about the 'advice'

Me, the 'usual' Salvation Army (I'm not religious but I apparently have views similar to yours) will have to do without.

From 2014 Christmas on John Surtees (only person ever to be world champion on both cars and motorbikes) gets mine - his son, a potential good racing driver, was killed by a wheel coming off another car.

I have zero interest in car racing, but John is a genuine good guy in all respects. He's now over 90 and still rides bikes. Big ones. He just sold some of his VERY valuable collection to the USA and gave all the money to the charity, the 'Henry Surtees Foundation'. Do it properly and YOU get tax relief which goes to them so they get more than you donated.

2015 - A brand new Bolkow twin turbine Air Ambulance (BTW: fully aerobatic ) and all running/maintenance costs. NOT used specifically for races, it is just a part of the general fleet of these things.
