I'd like to share my latest project with you. The Drak has captured my interest since the first time I saw the prototype. Being a Foamie Scratchbuilder, I wanted to come up with my own derivative with a similar planform.
This is intended to be used for FPV. There is a lot of room for gear, and plenty of wing to lift it.
The build technique is similar to an Armin wing, in that the skin is a single piece which is wrapped around the internal structure. Where this design differs from the Armin wing is that I am using wing ribs in addition to a spar.
The wings will be removable for ease of transportation.

3 x 2mm OD x 1mm ID x 1 Meter Carbon Tube
2 x 1.5mm OD x 1 Meter Carbon Rod

Motor: Suppo 2212/10 1400Kv
ESC: 30 Amp
Prop: 8x4E
Battery: 3200Mah 3s
2 x 9gm or 12gm Servos
3+ Channel Receiver

D.I.Y Drak maiden flight (1 min 54 sec)

Here is the beginning of the build log. I was able to nearly finish the fuselage section today.
I am using both Gorilla Glue White, and Hot glue for this build.

I am using 1.5mm Carbon rod for reinforcing the fuselage.

I am using 4mm x 2.5mm Carbon tube for the spars.

I will then use a 2mm Carbon rod inserted into the spars when attaching the wings to the fuselage.

The foam is all Model Plane Foam, CNC Cut by DZ1SFB

I was able to make some progress on one of the Wings today. See the pictures and captions below.

I have yet to install the hooks for the bands that will hold the wing on.
I also need to install the servo, control horn, and linkages.

With any luck, I will be able to build the starboard wing soon, and start installing the electronics.

Thanks Guys. I'll try to get some more progress done on this as soon as possible. Unfortunately very busy at work these days.

Now that I have the parts in front of me, I think I designed the Elevons a bit small. They looked bigger in CAD for some reason. I'm going to make those a bit bigger than my original plan.

Hopefully I'll have more to post by next weekend.
