JFH H606, a MJX X600 challenger (under construction)

INTRODUCTION

Here is a new hexacopter, the JFH H606, to be more precize a new competitor to the MJX X600, We will see if the new challenger can be even more interesting.

BOX CONTENT

+ 1 x JFH H606 (with a 1S 850mAh LiPo with JST connector)
+ 1 x Transmitter (using 4xAAA batteries not included)
+ 1 x USB charging cable with JST connector
+ 2 x Spare props (1 CW, 1 CCW)
+ 1 x Screwdriver
+ 1 x Instruction manual (English)

OVERVIEW

The main H606 body is clearly more larger compared to the X600 model. The plastic is thin and light, a good news for flight duration, a bad one for durability to crash. A frontal white LEDs is installed to help to keep orentation. It's a good feature.

With the landing gear installed, you have a ground clearance of 5cm. Any camera module/FPV kit can be installed beneath

A 3position cam port

The Lipo fills completly the battery bay, I advise to intall LiPo on the top of the battery bay before to lock the door.

The H606 as soon as the binding step is effective, offer some rotating light effect. Pretty nice to see but may be confusing for night flying. Whatever, lights are well visible. The font white LEDs helps to keep the orientation

-Weight

Motors

The gear elements are in nylon, a good option for the durability of the meshing. No ball bearings, the shaft is in direct friction with the plastic housing.

Some 8.5mmx20mm coreless type

LiPo

A 850mah 1S LiPo model. No discharge mentioned

Disassembling

A XN297 RF chip for the 2.4G. The classic MPU 6050C for the 6-axis stabilization.

Antenna mod

Transmitter

A classic basic radio with a small monochrome LCD display

The left shoulder cycle between the two speed modes while the right one actionate flips. The second faster rate in practice don't offer an amazing fast forward. The gyroscope calibration is performed by pushing both stick in lower-right position

Good news, the H606 can be bound with Banyang protocol of DeviatinTX

FIRST USAGE

JFH H606 first outdoors test (Courtesy LighTake) (9 min 1 sec)

With the stock transmitter, prop guard installed, the H606 is a super stable quadcopter for sure.... Rates are choosen clearly to offer stable and jellofree video. The payload capacity is around 30-40g so you can attached easily a möbius cam. I found the expert mode a little bit slow in fast forward but yaw well adapted. The H606 can only handle moderate Wind due to Prop guards and its lightweight.

JFH H606 outdoors test controled with DeviationTX (Courtesy LighTake) (5 min 23 sec)

With prop guards removed and especially flew with a Devo 7E (Banyang protocol), the H606 is transformed into a more beasty machine !!!. Really I liked how it flyes. It's nervous, have a pretty good vertical punch (better than the MJX X600) . Really... I enjoyed to fly the H606 like this. Thanks to my antenna mod coupled with the Devo 7E supportant, the control range is even more extended (> 100m without problem).

CONCLUSIONS

A (little) nice surprize, this JFH H606. I didn't find really big default except this relatively thin and potentially canopy breakable plastic. Except that, it's a super stable flyer with good range out of the box, super lights. The payload capacity is also good if you plan for example to install a small FPV kit. Controled with DeviationTX, it's just wonderful.

UNBOXING

PROS

+ Super stable flyer
+ Briight LEDs
+ Frontal White LED
+ Good payload capacity (30-40g)
+ Good range out of the box (>80m)
+ 7-8 min of flight times
+ DeviationTX compatible (Banyang protocol)
+ Sporty with DeviationTX

CONS

- Not very fast in expert mode
- Cheap canopy plastic
- No ball-bearings
- Not support strong Wind with prop guards on

Does it also bind with X9 transmitter? And the 80 metres range, is before antenna mod, right?

I don't have a X9 radio but it should work at 99.9999%.
Yes 80m it's before antenna mod
