NAN models Shadow 2

It's only hours since I got my hands on my new toy and thought I should share my joy with you.

For now, just a teaser and I let you make the guess what model is this about.

Unfair!

There's info under the table here.

For ignorant mortals like the rest of us, it would take much-much longer to figure it out.

Good to have you stepping in and since, I hope you could share much more with the rest of us about its development.

Longer (on both sides) , narrower and with a larger tail-group fuselage are the obvious.

Beautiful plane. However, I'm more interested in the plane stand; can you tell me more about that as well?

I was going to do a detailed build thread on the Xplorer models, maybe we could combined them here or should we do separate threads? I'm sure a lot of the building process is the same?

Opps! You're building an electric plane and I'm building a TD plane so I'll post mine in the proper thread.

Best,
Jim

How does the Shadow wing differ from the Xplorer?

I cut it from 10mm light ply at my work's CNC. Got the file downloaded from I cannot remember where, altered it to my needs (fits two fully-grown gliders, logos etc) and painted it with aneline. Some foamy material on spots ... Voila!

I can share the CAD I came with, if anyone's interested.

From what I know for sure, is at the wing's airfoil. Shadow's airfoil (modified HN507) has a faster envelope and "prefers" (or performs better in) windier conditions than the X.

The price of the Shadow is much cheaper than Xplorer's but it's hard to tell the difference in quality between them. Thought they used more expensive materials on the X, but the use of the light and expensive (Vlad's carboline I think) cloth on the wing and tails refutes that.

Jim that stand looks like a modified stand Jim Lougjran and I designed a year ago. Free plans are at www.TailwindGliders.com

There's where the "I don't remember where" is.

Thank you Curtis.

Thank you Curtis.

Would you mind sharing it with Tailwind Gliders and I will add it to the download?

Email it to salesATTailwindGliders.com. Replace the AT with @.

Thanks
Curtis

It's there.

I also tried to upload it here but file shows invalid, no matter which of the most pop forms(DXF,DWG,AIetc) I tried.

Anyone who knows another way of uploading drawing files and could help, is welcomed to contribute.

Put it in a .zip file and it'll work.
I'll get it posted to Tailwind Gliders soon. Thanks for sending it!

I weighted all parts individually and got some pics.

Surprisingly I realized the sum was much lower than expected. 1174gr (37.75oz) is far from a heavy (for windy days) glider I was planning on.

Ballast tube in the cart, for sure.
