I thought I'd give the nose gear a bit of life instead of being an aluminum tube just sticking out and I came up with this! I'm going to add also the two landing lights just for fun!

Awesome job. How many lipo cells and capacity would be required ? what flight time would you expect with lipo change.

Thank you! Now it flies on 2x4s 5500 and that gives me well over 12 min flight time. The two motors in series only pull 40 amps

Thanks for the info. I currently have 70mm edf units on my 787 but considering changing to 80-90mm units for increased static thrust. Would you know what static thrust you are getting with the twin 90mm set up please?

My set up is 2x wemotec midi fans with HP290-20-7 motors and that gives me 1100 watts(110watts per pound). Thrust is about 26N(2600kg).But you can get a lot more than that with todays fan and motors if you wish!

The HET and RC Lander and Dr Mad-thrust 90mm units I've used all gerenate atleast 5lbs or 2.26 kilograms of thrust.

Any 90mm fan unit that generates anything less are no good.

You can get a lot more thrust from 90 mm wemotec fans.
The four fans of this A340 produce 165 N (16.5 kg) or 36 lbs.
That's more than 41 N or 9 lbs. for one fan.

Very interesting A340. It looks like no wing dihedral (no V angles)?

Yes, the lack of wing dihedral and wing flex really takes away the from the scale look of that A340. It would handle better with dihedral too.

Regarding the wing dihedral the builder of this plane was indeed totally wrong. One may also remark the missing center main gear. It's a shame because otherwise this A340 looks very scale-like.
From what I know this guy has started the build of an A330. Let's hope he will get the correct dihedral now.

I agree 1,000,000% Kap!

This A340 is a Rauch kit if I'm not mistaken and I think the builder probably never really thought about wing dihedral and thought "if it flies that's all I care about"

I'm getting ready to build an A340 and won't make that mistake. . . . But who knows I might add the wrong toilet seats in the 1st class bathroom. Lol
