Question

need power/prop recommendations

I have a reptile 500 AUW- 1.66kg . I run a 3000mah 4s 20C Zippy and currently have 9x4.7 props on it. i get about 8 minutes of flight but quad is sluggish ... 3s won't even last 4 minutes before it can't hover

I just bought some graupner c-prop 10x4 to see if i can get total jello free video and better performance .

the next step are better batteries .. .but i'll have to weight them and make sure the weight difference negates the added capacity.

does this seem like a flyable setup ? or do you have better recommendations?

thank you!

Those props are a bit aggressive and probably making your current draw a bit high. And those slow fly props are notorious for jello.

If your flying 4S I would suggest trying some HQProps 9x4.3 carbon composite props. They are well balanced and really efficient props and should bring you down to around 4-5 amps of draw per motor giving you a total draw of around 16-20 amps depending on flying style and wind conditions.

I run this setup on my XuGong v2 Pro quad and get around 20 minutes flight time on a 5200mah 4S with a similar AUW. So on a 3000mah I would expect you to be getting in the neighborhood of 10-12 minutes or better

Actually, I get 1- 2 minutes more flight time with The hq10x3.8 than the 9443.
Also a 4s 6000 could get you 20 minutes or more
I just realized you already said a larger 4s would give more flight time, sorry.

Then maybe try the 10x3.8 HQProps. They should have no problems swing it on 4S.

If that doesn't solve it then I would definitely start looking at your batteries as the possible problem.
