duratrax evader st motor

the evader st esc can only handle 20 turns as I found out from tower hobbies. How would I increase speed to 30 or 40 using the same esc. Would a trinity stock motor make it go faster or slower.

Perhaps a Kyosho Magnetic Mayhem with its longer armature (torque) will let you gear higher. A stock motor is a higher 27 turn motor that probably isn't going to get you over 30 mph. You could probably get away with a 19 turn spec class motor as well.
7 cell packs are the best option.

Hey 305997
Is the Monster Horsepower stock going to improve my top speed because now I have the stock 20 turn photon motor. Now the max speed is 21.4 according to the box will I hit 30 since Trinity doesn't recommend 7-cells. What would you recommend on gearing?

I wouldn't expect 30mph out of a stock 27 turn motor. Not much brushed experience these days though. I run brushless in all my cars/trucks so breaking 30mph is a piece of cake.

Evader BX battery

My evader BX will easily go over thirty with a homemade 8 cell 9.4 v battery

That's a funny word
Best way to get speed increase with stock esc is to go to 8 or more cells, but stay with a 19-20 turn motor. Or if you want to push the limit of the esc you can drop to 14 turns , that's about it.
