I think they technically support 4s but at one one point, or maybe early models it was burning them out. It might have had something to do with quads and regenerative braking. Maybe someone else has more recent experience with it here.

It's common practice to use capacitors to absorb the voltage spikes that come about due to active braking in quads, so your explanation makes perfect sense. I wouldn't be pushing it by running a RC2 off 4s directly.

You can get (transient) spikes up to 25V in some cases, depending on how you fly. Some people even use 35V caps on their ESCs just to be sure.

I will use a lower voltage then, I havent used it yet but dont need to take the chance when 12v and 5v is available onboard.

I think that would be a very sensible thing to do.

Hey all, just got the RunCam 2 and it connects fine to the iPhone XR via the app. I downloaded the latest firmware 2.6. All went well.
I intend to use it for recording on board flight video on top of the wing.
Do you suggest I turn on digital IS? I tried two sample videos one with it on and one with off holding rhenxam in my hand and shaking around a bit.
Both seem very similar in that there is not much shaking
Does having the digital IS turned on degrade the video quality?
Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can obtain one of these?

Itís a RunCam 2 mount connector to a GoPro type mount.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

Runcam in 2 Av mode powered from 5V BEC.
After 3 minutes, it automatically shuts off.
The battery is in the camera.
How can I prevent a shutdown?

Does it stay on more than 3 minutes if you just run it off the battery and no BEC?

If not, download the wifi app and take a look at the time out configurations. Also, it's recommended not to use the camera (on) and charge the battery at the same time. You may want to remove the battery if you powering external.
