Need a little help from some DX6i experts

I have a DX6i I've used for quite a while with a variety of aircraft, but whenever I try something new I have major mental blocks.
I'd like to set up 3 position flaps, off/takeoff/land.
I have a stabilizer set up for on/off with the Flap/Gyro switch.
I use the Ail/DR switch to change my rates.
I get the flaps to run as 2 position where ever I want them with the Gear/F Mode switch, but when I try to get a 3rd position using any other switch setting I end up lost again.
Anyone have a link to an internet tutorial for an old fart like me?
I'm sure it's possible, just cn't follow the many videos etc. I've looked at.
No other functions involved. No lights, no retractable gear, etc.
TIA

Surface, Air & Water Rc Toys..
You need to create a Flap Mix, that way when you toggle your flap switch you have one position and when you toggle the mix switch you get another.

I don't mean to offend or anything like that BUT just wanted to share that it's at that time when I had my DX6i and needed to create mixes to get basic functions done that I considered upgrading transmitter.

Thanks, I'll keep experimenting with Mix setting.
Yeah, we'd all like to upgrade our transmitters, but my pension is too tight to allow it.
