Bit more progress, covered in superflite 104 (similar to Koverall) and 104 weight pinked tape. Ready to roller on a couple of coats of dacproofer (dyed nitrate).
Then spray coloured butyrate. Looks like we are in for a warm dry spell.
Happy New Year to you all
Cheers

I'm following with interest your building since the beginning of this thread but..... what's the full size plane in the background?

Hi
The full size plane is a Just Aircraft Escapade, built it a couple of years ago. Similar fabric to the Falcon covering just a bit heavier grade and a two part polyurethane coat.

Hi Ian here is the tailwheel, gets fitted when attaching the tail section to the fuse.
Just put on a couple of coats of nitrate with a roller
Cheers

Thanks, getting closer just setting the C of G at 30% which is slightly further than I would normally go but there are enough previous comments to suggest that this would be ok, anybody know different?
Have added silver strips between the blue and white and am just waiting on some logos, some fine weather and the weekend, maybe Sunday for the maiden flight.
Thank Goodness I don't live in Oz, 50 deg C + WOW!

Feeling a little apprehensive, as have sunk a fair amount of time and effort into this and having departed from the plans with the change in dihedral you never really know what will happen. !!!? but that's half the fun eh? and as somebody previously commented its ok for amusement, I am sure it will be!!
cheers

Julian,

You did a terrific job on the paintwork and finishing -I'm envious.
As for being apprehensive, I can relate to that after spending a couple of years putting my Falcon together. It'll be fine though.

Nice work, Julian!

Are you happy with the ailerons at the size you made them? They do appear to handle the turns rather well. Very smooth banking.

Thanks
Handles very well, ailerons appear to be ok in size.
Had to add a lot of weight up front to get CG to about 27%, but flies beautifully at this, was definitely sensitive further back and flew tail down. Have had to add an elevator down to increase in throttle mix, as she we climb with throttle and I mean vertical!! Of course I assume that it what is was originally designed to do !
not sure whether I need more down thrust or less will try both and see what happens, the wing is at approx 2 deg to the tail
