Quote: Ray . . . I'm going to use your method of putting the brass tubing to the fuel tank through the firewall . . . Ian

This was another job Ian I found tricky and time consuming.
In order to get three neat holes close together and horizontal at each of two different sloping surfaces, I made a pair of drilling guide jigs.
Tip: drill holes through the blocks before angle cutting. I did it twice the other way round! Your mileage may vary.

Model mostly finished. Still some tidying up to do.
Flying surfaces temp. hinged for photos.
Temp. wing bands are 7 inch joined. What size do others use?
Plan to cover with Solartex Natural. OK, see warts and all!
Will be spraying with Profilm clear gloss (polyurathane).
Hope to be through by September.
Ray
PS. had difficulty uploading these pics. Does it depend on the time of day or something else?

Super result - I especially like the cowl around the engine - one of the best I have seen.

Cheers

Thanks for the compliments.
Thanks also to all on this thread whose contributions and comments along the way have given me ideas and know-how and guidance, (if only you knew how green I am!)
Ian’s idea of securing the tail unit with a nylon bolt, reminds me, tail unit – aerofoil section – LIFT, which my two little press-studs may not cope with. So I am now working on a lock-in method.

I have just noticed that there is a Ben Buckle KK Falcon kit available on E-bay with only 22 hours to go and currently priced at £87.00. Anyone need another Falcon?

Just returned from vacation last night so jet lag has me up unusually bright and early this morning. Back to work now- should be finished covering mine this weekend.

Ray, I'm glad you've decided to lock down the tail a bit more securely - I was wondering how that was going to work out or if I had done my usual over-engineering.

A bit more progress. Everything is covered now and the first coat of dope went on tonight. Haven't quite decided on colours yet.
