Can I wrap ESC,receiver bubble wrap?

Can I wrap my ESC and Hitech receiver in bubble wrap
to protect them? will it effect reception or performance?

Good question!

It all depends on the application. If your flying a VERY weight sensitive slowflyer then there would be no need to " un " pad the electronics. if its a larger plane where weight is not a huge concern and flying speeds are alot faster then yes, but you would only want to rap the RX as wrapping the ESC would not let it vent properly. In my big Greaser planes i pad the entire RX and RX battery to pretect from harmonic vibrations caused by the engine.

oh, pading the RX will not harm reception so long as you have your antenna stretched out.

hope this helps

ESC's can get very hot, so I wouldn't use bubble wrap (it might melt).

Bubble wrap is fine for the RCVR, but on an e-plane, there is little vibration, and just velcro-ing it to a convenient spot is fine.

I wrap my receivers in light foam (~1/4 thick), then wrap them in aluminum foil and mount as far away from the motor as possible. Guess how I learned that?

I would have to go with Buran on the foam, Alum Foil optionial. But don't cover the ESC like the man said they can get very warm On my litestiks and small parkflyers I don't bother but the bigger they get the harder they crash.
