I'll have the first release of Android app ready in about a week - still finishing a couple features and bug fixes. I'll post a notice here when it's ready.

This is how I plan to set it up. Is this what you mean by common ground?

I'm also considering adding a quick one-time charge feature ... the idea is to replicate the typical low-end charger UI for one-off charging tasks. You'd select the basic params (chemistry, cells, charge rate, operation) on a single screen, then hit 'Go' to start. You guys think that's worth doing, or would PowerLab preset support cover it for you ? |

Got it!!
Got it, already programmed my tags and charging, wow easy.
Question, Going to use a Digiland tablet, as recommended by a beta tester early in the thread. when i scan for Bluetooth devices it finds 'Revobump' and when i touch it, it says cant connect, pin or password incorrect. it never even asks for a pin or password? |

Yep, that's why we added that port disable feature - as long as you have access to the PL UI, you can temporarily disable on Bump Controller and run a preset from the PL UI.

Personally that would be a perfect solution. A manual rather than preset method is far more flexible and makes an ideal complement to the tagged pack system (which is effectively presets)
I have lots of packs I won't put tags on - particularly small ones. Disconnecting the Bump controller to use the PL8 display and buttons defeats the whole purpose of a single advanced control interface - especially if the charger is now inaccessible. 😊 Thanks John Quote:

What is the proper procedure for updating the tag after an analyze run? Seems that I need to bump the tag while pack is still connected to charge leads...which is cumbersome. If I disconnect the pack, I get a pack disconnected error on the charger. Guess it would be good to have a charger stop button appear on the bump control after analyze run to allow pack removal, then bump to update fuel settings...
Let us know. Thx. |

For the small packs that don't get a Bump Tag, I have one tag that I stuck to a business card and laminated (non-heat type to be safe) for the entire lot of 20. I just bump the separate tag to set the charge parameters. Other beta testers have just stuck the Bump Tag on the container holding their batteries. There are probably other ways to skin the cat but the primary point is to make one tag that applies to many of the same battery. Just make sure to bump the correct tag. Chris ps - Beta testers are finishing up the Android app testing and quality assurance now. You guys are going to love the app! |
