Was looking at the Trannis x9e or x9d plus. Any other ideas of a good radio to get? Lmk also if you have one for sale that you think would work well 9 channel minimum.

Does it already have a receiver in it?

Doesnt have any reciever.

If you get a Taranis you probably want an X9D. The X9E is a tray radio which may or may not be what you use. Without knowing more about that multirotor it is hard to make suggestions. For example, what flight control board does it use?

Both FrSky (Taranis) and the newer line of Spektrum transmitters would with fine. Both can support PWM connections to the board or a single cable connection to the board. If you have a local group of people to fly with you might consider getting what they have so they can assist you with programming your radio. Your budget is also a consideration.

ok so for under $300 taranis the best option?

For $300 or less you have 3 options with which I am personally familiar.

FrSky Taranis
Spektrum DX7 G2
Spektrum DX6

Sometimes they come up for sale in the classifieds here....but mostly people tend to hang on to them

i am not sure what you mean by signal needed. copter board only thing i see on it is tritrooper Y6 by rctimer

is it worth getting the plus x9d of the reg of an extra $40
