VOXEL are you saying that the Kickstarter Ornithoper by Paulgcorp is the same
pterodactyl ornithopter that Hobby king is now selling RTF from their US warehouse?
Or is the Hobby king pterodactyl ornithopter a clone?

99.9% Shure it's the same thing. PaulG will have a gyro system and (hopefully) the tan/brown version.

Hopefully I will get my Kickstarter version soon.

The big difference is that the PaulG product had to be done via "Kickstarter". In reality, all it was, was a "pre-order" system. PaulG likely didn't have the guts to market them without knowing how many he could sell. HobbyKing is a big enough company, they could do it straight away. I wish I had waited for HobbyKing. Far less anxiety and not knowing if the Kickstarter thing was (or is) a scam. We still haven't seen our Pteros yet.
As for the gyro, I wanted the one without but PaulG decided not to sell those due to poor interest. I really doubt the gyro will make that much difference on a plane that nearly shakes itself to death when flying. Gyros hate that.
BTW, it was already for sale via AliExpress even before PaulG got the idea to market it. The problem is AliExpress is a bit dicey to deal with. I know. I bought an EDF from them and I never really knew if I was ever going to get it or if I was just screwed out of my money. Luckily, it did finally come.

On Sept. 14, PaulG stated in his update on Kickstarter that shipping will be 2 to 2.5 weeks. That puts it about NOW! If I don't hear anything by sometime next week, I may consider chasing after VISA. I've already talked to VISA and they said I'm perfectly within my rights, after such a long delay, to begin a dispute and after 2 weeks, should get my money back. I'll let VISA deal with PaulG. (Can you believe that these days, more and more people are putting HobbyKing on a higher pedestal than other sellers. Remember the old days?)

That's the price after you log in. The non-log-in price is always higher.

It's a pretty good deal considering what we all paid for the PaulG RTF version, that we still have yet to hear anything about delivery on.

Yeah, that was my first foray into a Kickstarter scheme. The wait has been unpleasantly lengthy and the lack of communication has made it extremely dubious. It will be my last venture into anything to do with Kickstarter schemes or crowd funding schemes. Just too easy for scammers to front their business. I'm still hoping that the product will be shipped soon and I won't have to go to VISA for my money. Nevertheless .................................. NEVER AGAIN!

And I hope someone at PaulG didn't just take a can of brown spray paint to an other color bird

There is always the hope that the new "gyro" will make the bird handle better at low/no flap rate (watch all the landings in the videos).
