3D friendly clubs in or near Bonita Springs Florida.

I will be moving to Bonita springs Florida as soon as I graduate college in april. I will also be spending my winter break there. Not being from that area I was wondering if there were any good 3D friendly rc clubs? Figured i would start the search now and scout them out over winter break.

Hey Man!

That's great. The more of us down here, maybe 3dhs/ef will come for an event...

While I am not from the area, I flew around there before (we go to Bonita Springs every year or so). I actually didn't come across any sanctioned fields really near by. The closest I found were 30mins to 45mins away. There are quite a bit of open spaces / fields over there so you may be better off to see if you can use a local park or a field. I was hoping to find a place in or near the FIU campus by Bonita but didn't find anything.

The two closest fields I found:

1. Cape Coral Sea Hawks

Google Maps

2. Collier

Google Maps

I only flew in Sea Hawks. Great paved field and really nice friendly people. I believe you need to be a member in order to fly there. Since I was just visiting, they just let me crash there for the day. You need to be supervised and signed off on your first flight. Needless to say, they let me be after some low and slow over the runway..
I had a blast and met some really nice people. I highly recommend. Only thing is, its not that close to Bonita Springs. Maybe I am just spoiled (I fly 7 minutes away).

You are going to love the florida weather. We get cranky if we miss a weekend of flying...

You sure you don't want to be in the Miami area?

I'll ping you next time I am in the area (or let me know if you are near Miami).

Thanks for the info. I will check them out when I get down there for winter break. I am up in Michigan right now finishing up college. Always have been a member of an AMA field in Ohio so I would love to continue going to one.
