Build Log

Blue FFF Stuka ju-87

Haven't seen many Stukas in this forum. Found a few plans for this plane. Printed out the Aeromodelers. August 1965 Stuka. All input greatly appreciated. This will be the first Gull wing i have attempted. These plans are for balsa i am trying to build with Blue FFF.
55" wingspan

wings

I have chosen the KY airfoil and used the foams folded edge to sandwich the ribs and spars. These plans call for a little more degree of Dihedral than scale. The wing tips and trailing edges can be cut out for scale or not. I have decided the latter getting a little more wing area.

I cut out all the pieces the best i could with close attention to the angles. The 5 wing section still didnt wanna line up perfectly.

landing gear

I purchased 3' of 12 gauge wire from Lowe's. With the bench vise i had some success with the correct bends. I used spiderwire to wrap the joining pieces and the superglued the spiderwire.

I added hardwood and secured the wood and wire with nylon zip ties which i have used in the past successfully.

This is really cool! How would you paint it?
Would you have a bomb drop system for the fuse and wing?
