How's the sag on a full throttle power run with those 2200mah lipos? Do you think you can get away with a smaller 1500mah pack? |

I'm gonna switch the setup to my speed frame instead of long range 700g setup and should get about 160 on 5s as now on 5s it goes 145 so only gaining 5mph on 6s. Suppose the brick shaped 700g beast is partly to blame. Guessing these 2200kv will see around 180 themselves. The 2500kv on 6s would be around prime 36000rpm which would be max rpm before problems and likely faster. I have the fpvaf 2500kv but as I have the 2207 2488kv as my true speed motors that are the most efficient and fastest ive seen I took the fpvaf off and they sit on the bench lonely till this day. You got any dvr footage of that bad boy at 180 ? Also what Lipo you running? |

What ESC settings are you using? My regular F80 2200kV have desync issues on 6s.
Kinda tempted to run one of these F80 pros on my beater goblin with 6s and see what happens if you guys are doing fine running 6x6 props. |

I don't find them to be terribly explodey, although they will flatten out around 90% throttle on my 1500KV 2507 6S setup. Some of that might be AUW (I'm under 600g for mine - Floss2.1 with canopy and no GoPro), some of that might be running a smaller battery so high throttle isn't pushing the same amperage. For flight time and speed, the 7" biblade Flash props are amazing. My favorite prop for 7", not just because the sound is glorious (and much like an extremely irritated dog). I do have ignore some of the jello, and they do flatten at speed... but that speed is a genuinely ridiculous speed on my setup. The Dal 7056 feels like a smoother and better prop at low speed, really precise and very linear thrust delivery (for a 7" - still buckets of thrust down low, big top end if you want to push the battery, but slightly sluggish on spool-up) The HQ 7x3.5x3's definitely displayed that tendency, even on 5S. I think those are great low speed cruising and park acro options for long videos, especially since they're so smooth, but those props are sitting idle in my bin for that reason. Admittedly, I have an odd use case for my 7" setups - they're intended for chasing cars, and endurance racing, so I've made a lot of compromises in order to settle on the GF7042-2 and DAL T7056C as my go-to props. There's probably also some performance delta between the GWX 2507 and the G2508, beyond the +50kv delta as well. I think I'm going to clone my 7" for the purposes of having a backup, and I'll probably pick up the 5-pk of G2508's, and I suspect the throttle points where I see prop flutter will come down accordingly - more magnet on taller stator means more power up top, and 6S 1550KV is ideal on paper for an aggressive 6" setup, but I'll run it on 7" anyway because I'm dumb. |

Man, I go away for a bit(quad was stuck in a tree for a few months plus I was too busy remodeling kitchen/first floor) and the thread seems to have died.
Anyway, I had a new neighbor move in, dude is/was a quad freak but is now into the DJI crap. For those who remember Im with timecop on DJI stuff, Im a certified hater!!! Lucky for me he just gave me all his 5" racer stuff plus he's an admin of a DC area facebook "drone" group and gets free stuff all the time I guess as promotions. I said just put it all on my doorstep Seriously, I feel like I hit the lottery! I have almost two five gal buckets full of props, parts, frames, electronics. Insanity! Just built a quad with the Emax 2306 2400kv SE motors. I used to hear great things about these motors but honestly, Im not that impressed. Using brand new CHL 4s 1300mAh 100C lipos, tons of different 5" props with different pitch, manufacture, etc, RDQ's blheli 32 ESC's. Still early in the flight testing but they just seem to be power hogs but Im not seeing any corresponding performance results. Motors are never warm. Any suggestions??? |

Those 2306 motors will pull power right to the top end, but their performance up to 85% throttle is actually solid and efficient. Biggest issue with those is actually the magnets in big crashes... but if you limit throttle those are solid motors.
Those batteries are what I run primarily for my fleet; as far as props I still haven't encountered anything I like better than the T5046C V2 Cyclones (and I get to dumpster dive for the latest and greatest at races). |

IMO people overprop a lot for very little gain. |

I only fly LOS so maybe my needs are different, 2206-2400, I have yet to try a 5045 prop I like, just lack of thrust (punch) and top end, then add to that the price. KK5050 is my favorite 37 cent prop.

If I'm looking for a lot of low end thrust, not much top end speed for freestyle flying what's a good motor size for that? Mostly proximity flying in trees. Not much open field stuff. Real fast and tight turns, 180° change of direction etc. Looping tree branches and whatnot.
Been using 2204, then 2205, now 2206/2300 and a 2207/2500 but dislike the 2207/2500 as it's bottom end gets lost. I like the 2206/2300 but thinking of moving to 5S on next battery replacement. 6S is just too expensive still. Usually fly DALQ5040, but been flying HQ 5*4.3*3v1s lately. Finally got some blheli32 ESC with the dalrc rocket 50a 4/1. Paired it up with their f722 FC. Kind of a typical spot to fly
