Removing Fabric and Dope covering

I recently picked up a old Proctor Antic plane that was built some 30+ years ago.
The fabric and dope covering is still mainly intact but very brittle.
I want to recover it
Whats the easiest/best way to remove the covering without to much frustration (If possible).
Thank You

Acetone as the solvent and a cheapo brush (not the sponge type) is probably the quickest and least expensive way to go. Just paint the solvent over the ribs --you may have to paint it twice to let it soak through-- or wherever the fabic adheres, and pull the fabric off. Then wipe solvent on again and wipe with an old T-shirt to get the last dope off.
