Maybe .... Wood Crafters #8

Attention Woody builders and flyers. If there is enough interest shown ...

There will be another Wood Crafters Reunion in Muncie, IN, AMA field, May or June of 2016. Interest will be measured by the number of persons sending an email to me before November, 2015 . Skybench@Comcast requesting to be added to the Wood Crafters Reunion notification list.
This will be a two day event. Persons signing up for the list will be polled for opinions and notifications as the events plans come together.

PLEASE .. NO PM'S, use my email address Skybench@Comcast.net

This will keep you notified of the events to be run, the Banquet guest speaker/speakers, dates and more. Entry will be Pre-Registation only and all frequencies will be available .. exception .. one person per freq. on the old ch # and I have CH # 56 locked up. This means you can fly your oldy but goody that is still controlled by your older radio plus fly your 2.4 Tx. .

Here is the link to the info from Jim McCarthy on the 2016 Soaring Masters Nostalgia one day contest on the AMA field, Muncie IN. 2016 could be the year for NOSTALGIA FLYERS.

Looking forward to flying with all of you. I hope to have event classes and task for everyone.

To begin with, one of the persons on the list suggested the Triathlon task, give me a yea or a nay on this idea.

Re: Triathalon

Wow!! Flying the triathalon with a wooden sailplane!! Now that's nostalgia with a capital"N" - let's do it. At least a couple of rounds.

Ray;
Having attended only 1 contest in my flying career (TD), I don't know what a Sailplane Triathlon is?

Well, not to worry, many could say the same thing. The task didn't have a great following, I loved it. One of the posters to this thread suggested it, I hope he will bounce in here and explain the task and what he likes about it.

One of my very favorite past Wood Crafters event was the "One of a Kind Windfree" fly off.

Many enjoy the longest flight task and the Ladder task.

I'm thinking I will introduce an Electric task that I have on a CD. We have run it one time at my LOFT club and many of the guys said they really liked it. I is a low pressure approach to group launching an landing.

You ca go to the AMA web site and look up all the Rules and Regulations for all AMA Task .
I'm having trouble with my key board ..

We flew 4-6-8-10, YOU name it after you land today at our loft club event. This is a fun event that woody guys enjoy, never know how it is going to end up till the very end. No call up, no pressure, nothing but fun.

The "what determines a woody" rules as far as wood crafters is concerned ARE on my web. Remember, this is not a nostalgia contest.
