FREE Yak-23 EDF Plan

O.k. finally got the plan finished. Here is the Yak-23 Profile EDF Jet. It works great out of FanFoldFoam, or 6mm Depron.

The plans are attached in PDF format, one large sheet plan, and one set of tiled plans.

Working on the P-38 and hope to have it done and up for another 24hr freebie by this weekend.

Thanks Bill for making the PDF managable. You can go to my website to download the free instruction manual. Yak-23 Instructions

I just got some depron and stored it in one of my safe from kids getting into it places, and was wondering what to do. I was thinking on doing another 3d'r, but now I think I am going to do this. I have every thing sitting on my bench for a project like this, but all my edf units have been sitting around since the 3d bug hit me. Its nice to have my 3d'rs, but Its nice to have an assortment of fun flying planes. OK, now what the heck did I do with my depron? Thanks for the plans. Bud

Guys yall are welcome. If you have any questions or comments post away, PM or email me. I fogot to add that you will need a bamboo skewer (so something similer) to join the elevator halves. The instructions show this pretty well.

Post or email me some pics when you get them flying.

Hey Now

My Foamtastic Models Yak-23

Just finished building by Yak-23 by Foamtastic Models. I downloaded the plans and used depron as the material. I'm using a GWS 4channel picco RX, 2 GWS Picco servos, GWS 2amp speed control and a 830mah 7.4volt Thunder Power battery.
I flew it for a minute this afternoon in pretty high winds and it handled itself nicely. I actually didn't think it would make much forward headway but it did ok.
I highly recommend this airplane to anyone wanting to try a ducted fan airplane. It's simple and easy.
I made two modifications to the airplane. The first is a support for the long elevator pushrod. I just used a scrap piece of depron glued to the fuse with a hole poked in it. The second is a short piece of thin bamboo rod glued to the bottom of the wing to stiffen it up a little.
Here's some pics.

Looks good.

I am going to make an EDF 55 version soon. It will have to have a wing spar at the least.
