The easiest way to improve on your problem is to set the exposure control to -1 or even -2 on a bright day (probably -2 is a bit too much on a cloudy day). That will lower the overall exposure. DJI (and most drones, for that matter) tend to prioritize exposure that makes the ground look perfectly exposed, and that means that the sky, inevitably, is overexposed. Some people don't mind, you (like me) are bothered by it The overall picture will be darker, but with still plenty of highlights on the ground. Experiment with various exposure levels until you find one that strikes the right balance between properly exposed sky and enough ground details The other option, is to point the camera much lower and having so much ground in the picture that the overexposed sky is non-noticeable. But that has its downsides, too |

Hell RoBCa, and thanks for helping shed some light on brightness control, pardon the pun. I'll start with a minus 1 on the exposure control setting, to see if that reduces the glare. I have found quickly that filming at midday produces the sharpest imagery with the least glare, though evening shots can be just as visually appealing if the sun is kept behind the direction the camera faces.

I cannot remember if the Histogram function was available on the P3S when I flew that ... but its what I use a lot on my P3P.
I know the P3S controller doesn't have the thumbwheel control for histogram ... but is it on screen ? What about filters ? |

As far as I know, there is no graduated filter for the Phantom. And even if it were, it would probably cause more problems than help, since the amount of sky in a shot can change depending on the camera pitch, and you would risk having a ground scene with varying degrees of exposure |

I was just given a phantom 3s. it does not have a charger, i think the batter is in hibernation as it will power on and immediately power off and when you hold power button for 5 sec all 4 lights go on then immidately go out. Shows 0v. with voltmeter.,
Is there any way to try to bring it out of hibernaton with lipo charger? I have a b6 mini charger and the connectors to hook to the battery, but all info i have found says you have to have the dji charger to do it, I would like to get this battery up at least enough to power up aircraft and check i and download flight records if this model stores them. sd card only showed 3 flight dates in past 3 years. |

The B6 / any LiPo charger with adaptor lead will charge a DJI battery as this - BUT not when its so low ... it will default out ...
The charger reads the voltage and sees its well below 4S and says No Way Hose ! You cannot use NiMh / NiCd mode as the batterys board will reject it. Hibernation is a real bummer as DJI put this into the control board - but getting out of it is 50-50 ... You need a steady charge voltage of 17.5V as per the DJI charger ... its actually not a charger - its a dumb brick power supply ... the actual charge controller is in the front board on the battery. I've attached a summary of DJI Battery use etc. - in that - is the way to try get battery to come out of hibernation. The main point - is that if you keep pressing buttons / connecting charger - it will not do anything as the board will shut down ... you need to follow the steps strictly. AND HOPE IT WORKS !! Unfortunately - DJI decided to not let users access the cells individually as you would with a normal LiPo ... you can prise of the front face of the case and get to the board - but you do that at own risk ... you may cause board to shut off permanently ... If you do get the battery to revive - your B6 is fine for charging normally ... set to LiPo High Voltage ... as DJI uses 4.35v per cell not the standard 4.2v. |

i can rig up a "dumb" charger, but only up to 3.5amps at 17.5 v . Is that enough or will it take 4 to bring it out. i did try it with my charger set up for LiHv. but as i saw on other posts it would not recognize battery in off position and battery would power down before it would recognise in on position. thanks for the info and i will read it before i go further.
Will the aftermarket chargers sold on amazon work for this? if so i will go ahead and order one as i will need/prefer it anyway. |

I have the 3 battery + Controller combo charger (I know the controller lead is not for Standard) ... but the charger charges up 3 Phantom batterys simultaneously - not like the crap DJI multi charger that sequences them !! There is no need to pay DJI crazy prices for charger. Here's what I have : https://www.amazon.com/Phantom-Intel...AWCGE841N136EM Works nice .... |

Thanks Ian getting all my spare parts together to attempt charging. A lot more involved just going from 3s to 4s. Have to run power through a buck converter to go up then another to go back down to 17.5 and monitor current Also just lost another craft and am trying to find it plus deal with tech support. I ’ll post my results when completed. Already have another battery and charger on the way(who can live with 1 battery anyway?)

After doing minor repairs( no new crash) the drone wil not power on battery is good(tried 2) Battery lights up sometimes i can hear a faint click then battery powers down i have checked all connections and everything appears to be good . firmware is not up to date but it has not ben updated in a few years. Surely that is not the problem is it? Any help would be appreciated as i have reached my limit with this. Read forums and saw this had happened to others but they at least got it to light up. Motors are good bateries are good. Have no logs to look at
