My updated Alien Butterkwad

Been flying this quad now for nearly a year and have been making tweaks to it overtime. Most recently updated the VTX Antenna so that it sits higher up as having it mounted under the top deck and out the back I was getting some interference from the battery while flying at distance. Anyway, pretty darn happy with it and just wanted to share.

Specs:
-Impulse RC Alien Butter Kwad
-MotoLab Tempest F4 Flight Controller FC 8k8k Multishot
-Spedix HV 30 amp
-Micro uBlox M8N GPS GLONASS
-DAL 5050c bi-blades
-MB 2207 2450
-TBS unify and crossfire
-GoPro Session with ND4 filter
-1900mah Lumenier 4s Battery

LOL! Somehow I remember teasing about a 3" Alien aeons ago. Pretty sure it was when Soma was still with ImpulseRC, so well over two years back.

Curious to see how the 3" Alien turns out, whenever the public gets to see it.

Probably more like 2019

Product development takes so long at ImpulseRC... Still have some in the air but by now grown quite fond of my Armattans as well.

For 3 inch building a Acrobrat right now. Seem to be quite brilliant. The 3 inch Armattan Gecko will probably be added as well once it's out.

The 3 inch Alien... Too little too late?

I've been flying one for a few years now. ;-) Glad to see that ImpulseRC finally decided to jump on board. Maybe I'll get a free one out of it since I did it first. ;-)

Pointy71: While the Acrobrat is an impressive design, it's much larger and heavier than what I would expect from a 3" quad. For 3" props, I prefer t-mount props and 11xx or 1304/1404 motors. If I'm going to run larger and heavier motors, like 1306/1407, then I might as well run 4" props.

As for the official 3" Alien, ImpulseRC still have a good team. So I would hope the 3" Alien is at the very least competitive. Maybe it could even add some new touches. For example, I'd be curious to see what integrated electronics in 20x20mm format they can cook up.

jones007: Ha! I remember your (unofficial) 3" Alien quite well.
