Mainstreet, USA ó A shocking report, out of USA Today, shows just how dangerous being an innocent bystander can be when there is a police chase going on.

On average, according to the report, one person every day is killed during a high-speed chase.

To put this into perspective, thatís larger than the number of people killed by floods, tornadoes, lightning and hurricanes ó combined.

Contrary to popular thinking, high-speed chases arenít only dangerous for those involved. Innocent bystanders are all too often the victims of these reckless pursuits.

According to the report, more than 5,000 bystanders and passengers have been killed in police car chases since 1979. Tens of thousands more were injured as officers repeatedly pursued drivers at high speeds and in hazardous conditions.

Launch the drones ...
Interesting data. Had no idea, so many are killed in car chases each year. Wow. And so many were sacrificed, just to bring in a traffic violation. Nutty.

This death by cops data ... It keeps turning up,stuff we simply didn't know before. Hard to absorb facts, that turn your world around.

Several states here have introduced increased penalties for people who are charged with being involved in a police chase.

Funny how such a miniscule cause of death of innocents seems to be a big deal. Doctors kill hundreds of people per day and that doesn't even get noticed.

Doctors can be sued, held liable for the damages and deaths, at the very least. You can't say that about cops
