Building Frenzy 600E DFC Flybarless - JSModel - Low Headspeed Rc Helicopter

I just ordered my first 600 heli, a TZ 600E made from JsModel.. I have plan to built this as a low headspeed heli. The main strategy is a 12s setup but fly with 6s batteries. I ordered 2 of this kits on HK on their sale..Not shure if the second kit would be heli, or spares yet..time will show. Still waiting for heli and motor..but here is what i have order for my built:

TZ Frenzy 600E DFC Flybarless Electric 3D Helicopter Kit From HobbyKing

I ordered some very standard low budget 600 blades From HobbyKing...On a later stage i might go for asymmetrical blades, maybe 620mm spinblades who is better for low headspeed setup

running a 12s motor with 6s??
- are you aiming for an ultra-low head speed??

From the HK pics, it looks like the kit is supplied with four pinions, possibly 10t and 11t pinions for motors with 5mm and 6mm shafts. I'm assuming the kit also comes with the 91t maingear, in which case, running 6s with your 510kv motor and using the 11t pinion, you might see HS1250. You'll certainly get long flights at that HS, but it might feel a bit dull. I would have gone for a 12s capable ESC right away, that way you would have more battery pack options. 8s would get you up to HS1650, which would give longish flights with decent smooth aerobatic capability. The spares list in the manual does show a 12t pinion, tho, which would get you up to HS1350 on 6s.

Not sure what packs you're going to get - the manual shows 6s 4000mAh. Those would probably give you approaching 20 minutes of flight time with the 11t pinion, but for me, it would seem more like 60 minutes!

Im not shure how large batteries i will use yet... but frame seems to be able to store lots of lipos. Could be anything from 1 x 5000mah to 2 x 5000 mah...or maybe a single large lipo 8-10.000 mah

You have many good points...as alwais.. I noticed same..regarding pinion...I would prefer to got the 11 an 12, not 10 and 11 teeth..but lets see. change blades to 620 asymmetric spin blades will probably fly longer and better..

I think 20 minutes possible...but all over 15 minutes is fine for me...It also depends how heavy i want to this to be (lipo capasity)

Ps Motor is 520kv..

It's a tough choice - the manual doesn't show max battery sizes, and doesn't have many side views. I reckon your packs need to be 150 - 160 long, but they can be pretty wide.

If the kit comes with the 103t maingear, I think your HS will be too low on 6s....

As i understood from manual 91t is standard, 103t is upgrade/option..

I will not order lipos before building it and do needed measuring and check weigh and cg..etc
