Take Your Heli Pilot Skills Higher

Collective pitch mechanics are a key element to learning sport aerobatics with a helicopter. When combined with the durability of a 230-size heli, pilots get the “wow” factor in an airframe that’s practical. Until now, learning with a collective pitch machine still had an intimidation factor. The Blade® 230 S collective-pitch electric heli is engineered to meet and go beyond the needs of the new heli pilot by offering a highly-tuned machine with innovative SAFE® technology so that it’s easy for any pilot to achieve first-flight success, prevent crashes and then move on into advanced flight, all with one heli.

Engineered around the abilities of innovative SAFE® technology, its progressive flight mode system makes flying the Blade® 230 S collective pitch heli more comfortable, even if you’re a beginner. SAFE® Technology

The Blade® 230 S features exclusive SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology, a revolutionary electronic flight envelope protection system that makes it easy for anyone to fly helicopters with confidence. Flight mode versatility means that you can instantly choose the level of assistance and maneuverability that’s right for you. Three Flight Modes
•Stability mode—limited flight envelope with self-leveling and a bank angle limit

Collective Pitch Rotor System

its the same rotor diameter as a 300CFX.

From the blade site, it looks like the main motor is 3800kv - not sure how the kv ratings work as the 180CFX is rated higher than the 300CFX - chances it'll be woefully underpowered?

Looks like a sport heli with advced features. DXe TX looks like Devo 7s type ?? give them credit they keep em coming. Hope it does well. I have two V200d03's bl/ Blade 300 X working on with upgrades. That said good form HH. blade does it again. Still Nano CP-X should not have been dropped. Great little heli and reasonable priced. Plus option of bl kit. 200 SR-X/ 180 CF-X/ 300 CF-X/ 360 CF-X good for you HH.

Glad to see someone still thinks there is a market for helicopters. Looks a bit like another attempt to hit the market segment that the Blade SR was aimed at. With advances in stability technology, lets hope this one does better than that one did. If nothing else, maybe the introduction of another heli in this size class will drive the price of the 180CFX down a bit!

I checked HH site. This is a c/p version of 200 SR-X. Twin bl motors so its motor driven tail. I guess repacement for SR model. Well another heli for some to wait for. Good for them anyway to bring another bird out. Wonder how long quad boys will last before sheer boredom kicks in ??

I saw the parts list.... It uses 300x head parts, 200srx tail rotor..... I'm going to cross reference some of the other part numbers later, just for curiosity's sake. I was looking at getting an Ares 300cp...... till I saw this 230s today. I wonder what else HH is up to?

Man, i am so confused! i was all set to buy a 300CFX, just to get another "sport flying" helicopter (absolutely no interest in aerobatics) and along comes the 230S!!

its got to make a better sport flyer than the 300CFX, right!

i'm about an inch away from preordering!

i really like the 300CFX, looks like a really solid heli, although i am only looking for a sport heli and i am kind of hesiitant because it could end up being like my mcpx bl, which behaves like a hummingbird on "crack".

Both of your situations sound like mine; my super CP is ready for the garbage and I was debating a MCPX BL or a 180CFX until this was announced. My 3D skills are extremely beginner level and while the 180CFX may be "more" heli for the money, it isn't worth it if I'm constantly wrecking it trying to learn 3D. The 230S's panic button coupled with its larger size and supposedly robust (metal gear servos!) build make it sound like the ideal choice for an outdoor sport flying / basic 3D heli. Now I just need to decide whether to go BNF and get a DX6i or go the convenient route and get the RTF....


WhiteCloud - the rotor diameter on this should put it very close in size to a 300CFX
