Floquil Paint

Howdy Oscar !

How's your weather ?

The hull color hear is Floquil Boxcar Red ~

Floquil has some great "Railroad" colors that may work well on boat models.

Floquil Tuscan was used top to bottom on another Tug model ( Silverdot ) ...:

Ballast set up and leak test

An update, the ballast set up and leak test is done ~

This model required 14 lbs. of weight to bring it down to the waterline.

This exersize helped establish the weight limits of the SLA battery that will go in.

No Leaks.

A little more done ~

A 12V SLA battery was purchased and a tray was made to hold it well in the model.

Another tray was made to hold a removable container full of copper coated lead shot, this tray has holes in it which accept a weighted pin that allows for adjustment of the weight in the rear of the model ( seen this here several times, thanks to those members for caming up with this idea ! ).

The rear deck has finally been installed ~

Concerned with the small size of the bellcranks for the rudders that came with the kit, Dumas arms were fitted, they feel better ( special thanks to Gravman for providing the Dumas parts for this step ! )

The power distribution panel was made up and fitted, a 40A Viper Marine ESC and separate fuses for the battery and motors are included.

Other taps on the panel are ready for fans, lights, anything else that might be added.

The forward deck was temporarily fitted making sure there is No gap between the for and aft deck halves.

Looking real sharp Tim. First class as always. What size fuses are you using? Glad to help with the parts Tim. Toad Hall boat works, we never close.

Howdy Mr. Gravman, I think right now there is a 10A and two 5A fuses, with some testing those values may change.

The New Old Stock rudder arms you sent are better than the new stuff, they are made of much harder material.

Painted black they look great and should hold up well.

You getting any rain from that Big hurricane that stripped those Mexican beaches ?

( I cant even image 200MPH steady wind ! )
