Looks like the one thing missing from his 50 year collection is a decent camera.
'round here we call that hoarding.

I find this ad funny.
"11 digital controllers" - they are all on 72 mHz.
"100s of dollars in parts" - very old parts.

A couple of classic CL photos that include the camera man's bare feet.

heh, the pack of smokes and the ashtray add a level of classiness to the sale.

Recently got a kit at a swap meet and didn't realize it till it was in my car that cigarette smoke had permeated the entire kit.

I actually wouldn't mind having the old Cannon radio, if it was available reasonably, for spares. I still fly one, that I bought from Bill Cannon himself, on the 6 meter ham band. Hey, if it still works, I still use it.

The guy selling the models in Bakersfield seems to be
one of those mental giants who just can't get it through
his head that nobody's going to lay $650.00 for a bunch
of damaged junk, just because he's too lazy to part it out.

If he wants to get rid of it that bad, put a tag of $150.00
on it and he might get a few calls.

From the guy selling the full-scale, I'd be real careful
even though you can apparently inspect the open
airframe. Trusting someone's workmanship in a
model is one thing, but this has much higher stakes!

Martin,

Exactly my thoughts. As many bad RC planes as I’ve bought used over the years, would I trust someone else’s homebuilt construction?

Here's the deal. You have to have incredible "street cred" to sell a homebuilt (experimental) aircraft - partially built, completed, or flown for several hundred hours. Me? I'd have to know the builder, and he/she would have to be a craftsman to the nth degree.

Put the wings on that thing, if built, and sacrifice it at Burning Man.

My thoughts exactly! Stand that fuselage up and it would make a great candle.

I would much rather buy that than a project Cessna 150. The Piet looks like great workmanship and he has all the right parts to go with it. Any homebuilt in the bones is an easy inspection - if you know what you are looking at. If the wing and fuse is all buttoned up, you have to look at the quality of the work you can see. One builder is not bad, it gets very much worse if 2 or more owners are involved.

Certified -vs- Experimental. Logbooks -vs- who knows what glue was used. Apples -vs- oranges, really.

Although, it depends on *why* the C-150 wound-up as a "project", right?
