wdwimbish Wayne Wimbish Thread OP	Build Log New Stream Lites Just got two new Stream kits from Oleg. I will try and post some build photos here and in the Stream thread. To start here are the obligatory unpack photos and empty weights: Images View all Images in thread Views: 320 The box arrived without a mark on it by FedEx ground. Views: 329 I think Oleg custom built this box. The walls are double thick and the ends tuck in. It would be hard to crush this one. Another little thing that Oleg does well. Views: 348 An entire edition of Oleg's local paper. Nice to see recyclable packing material. I hate packing peanuts. Views: 373 Two wings safe in their covers, fuselages wrapped like flowers in paper, and small parts sealed in Ziploc bags and then in bubble wrap so that nothing gets poked. Views: 412 Add the full unveiling. Views: 340 Vertical #1 6.2g Views: 332 Vertical #2 6.2g Views: 339 Horizontal #1 5.8g Views: 52 Horizontal #2 5.8g Views: 52 Red fuse 36.4g Views: 54 Green fuse 36.2g Views: 63 Red wing 105.8g Views: 55 Green wing 104.6g Views: 71 Trial fit for JR DS188 servo. Obviously not able to do side by side but then I am not flush enough to afford $60 servos. These will do the job just fine.

wdwimbish Wayne Wimbish Thread OP	Well, it's been a year since I started the build. Finally got them done for this year's Nats. Here are the rest of the build photos. Images View all Images in thread Views: 56 Decided to go with KST X08s side by side as I did in my Vortex. Just enough space for a flush fit. Views: 57 Ply tray former for and aft. Views: 47 Wires can run underneath between the servos. Views: 59 Following Oleg's build photos for top drive install. Views: 45 Views: 52 Views: 52 Views: 56 Views: 51 Center layout for auto connector. Views: 62 Matching layout on fuse. Views: 54 Views: 55 Views: 61 Used 26g 4 wire ribbon on fuse side. Used 0.1 round pin connectors. Views: 55 Connector installed in fuse. Views: 45 Crimp on servo connectors added to just reach Rx without slack. Views: 60 Wing harness positioned to determine which lead goes in which wing. Views: 54 Harness lead fed to each servo pocket. Then soldered. Then servo installed. Extra wire is tucked in channel around edge of servo pocket. Views: 52 Servo done. Views: 55 Everything done in fuse ready to move on. Views: 50 Ooooopppps!!! Could not close hatch with servo arms installed. Have to start over with a single file layout. Darn! Spacer gives staggered height for pulley offset. Views: 52 Servo trays glued with goop. Let dry clamped overnight. Views: 59 Now we are done. Views: 66 Everything nice and tight. Battery, receiver, and Pico mag switch all fit in nose. And about 12g of Tungsten putty for balance. Views: 71 Ready for tails. Views: 59 Rudder mounted with 5 min epoxy. Went on perfectly. Rudder horn and wire. Slit in fuse side behind stab mount. Views: 52 Stab mount glued with black CA. Fuse slit ahead of mount for stab wire. Views: 68 Had to slot bottom of pulley to get wire into top hole and groove. Views: 59 Final connector detail. Marked connector for polarity. Views: 55 Dummy cap added to protect pins. Red tape or nail polish for visibility. Views: 49 Dummy caps. Views: 62 #2 Beadalon crimp makes perfect keeper for 0.047" aileron pushrod. Held in place with drop of CA. Views: 62 Done.... finally!!! Views: 71 New flock of two matched Streams and my Vortex 2.5. Now I need to get on to my other Vortex 2.5 kit to complete the set.
