Our club does not allow high performance gliders with three wing bolts.. I have flown an F5B glider with NO wing bolts, just tape.. (don't ask how that ended)

I am converting to 4 wing bolts as we speak before flying it like this. Im also replacing the front 2 wing bolts with concrete anchors “can never be too careful”

got to fly the new 17x26 today in both 3 and 2 blade configuration.

My batteries are starting to show their age.

3 blade put some heat on the castle 120 and caused a shut down towards the end of the flight. “i did fly longer than i should have”
the sound is wild on 3 blade.

on 2 blade the prop was faster and more efficient then the 18x22. 30 amps lower peak. sounds better also!

usually i don’t have to preheat my batteries as florida is warm enough in summer but today the rpm sagged in the launch pull. After 2 pulls the heat started to wake up the packs and it was fine after that. going to shop for some new cells.

3 Blade
XPlus 17x26 Tri-Blade (4 min 10 sec)

2 Blade
X-Plus 17x26 (7 min 14 sec)

So do you like the 3 blade better?

it’s too soon to tell. I need to give the 3 blade a shot on fresh batteries.

The 3 blade has a very distinct sound. and i like the bark of 2 blades. The 3 definitely doesn’t stall like the 2 blade does. I think with some bigger newer packs it would do well. I have 5s 1550s now which i overcharge to 4.35 to get an additional 200mah in each cell. I’m going to try some TP Rampage 1800s next so i can overcharge them to 2000mah and see how it holds up.

I wonder if the CC160 would have thermal shut down on you like the 120 did.. I don't know if there's room for the 160 in the xplus

Looks good to me. you will probably have to play with the flap compensation. i put my radio into that setting before i flew the plus so i was able to adjust it on the fly without having to scramble for the right menu.

Which 1800 packs are you running? i just got roaring top 80cs for mine

Set mine to 3.2v so 32v and of course they drop off fast. Typically mine seem to loose their punch at about the last 33%. Can even set for 3.3v on new cells.
