Build Log

Pt Fermin F-20 Jet

Vic (R.I.P.) has graciously lent me his Pt Fermin inspired F-20 Jet glider mould and has given me the go ahead to build two jets. One for himself and one for me.

He said he'd come over to my garage at a later date and cut some wing cores with his special templates.

Yay!

So this build log will serve as window for him to see where I am in the build and give me some guidance when needed as I progress.

I should be getting ready to go camping tomorrow but I couldn't wait to clean off the old PVA and some of the epoxy "splash" and get a coat of wax on her before I left.

Cheers!
TomS

Only Two

I've only been given permission to build two and that is all I will make.

Actually, as Ian is so deftly aluding , I will have to make an extra effort to get two done on step .

I'm on it I'm on it ...

It was great meeting you Tim. I love your Mig and you freindly positive attitude even more.

Hope to hang out and see you again soon

Good Times All, I Can't Wait Too ;)

Vic,

When I run the glass up the sides past the mould lip is the glass wetted out above the lip?

I'm thinking sticking up a little less than an inch all around like we talked about.

I guess you trim it back a bit later when you seam it?

Do not let the cloth get rock hard you will be hating life later, about 85% cure is good stuff enough so it doesn't stick to your hand and hard enough that it's easy to trim.
