A page or so ago and talking about Austin 7s and Beeker (sorry about the distraction (no I'm not )), here is the Austin-Beeker. It solves the U/C problem

OK, I'll get back to building my second Bipie.....

OK I finally got it completed and did a video this am.

It's heavily edited and going up on vimeo as I write.
soon to appear here

(2 min 41 sec)

I had to bend the LG forward to avoid tipping over on power up and landings.
I eventually got it working fairly well.

This'll be a good one for the grand kid.

Nice job Bob. What was the weight of you Beeker?

Those snap rudder rolls are fun! I should have warned you of those.

I will be making a longer and wider lg soon.

Yes that is the direction that I was going to make my adjustment.

My wing is a single sheet but curved for UC effect.

I have also Lengthened and spread the LG but it still does that comical nose over
if a wheel get s stuck.

Flew it last PM after the rain let up .
Not one nose over :-)))

The Longer LG and new Motor angle has made the Beaker
a much more tame and enjoyable model.

Next up is an RX change to allow me to do some Trainer work with my Grandson.

Thanks for sharing this design.

Good to hear that the motor angle adjustment settled it down.

Can relate to the rain. I have been in KY the past several days and have yet to see the sun more than a few minutes each day. The hillside at our cottage is beyond saturated!

And I'll be the lake is totally BROWN and dirty with logs and crap in the water.
No good for skiing or boating.

I am less than 3 hrs north of you in Indianapolis, just take I 65 !

I Was just down that way and stopped at Louisville slugger museum, The Caves, The Vet Museum and eventually went to Space museum at Huntsville.

6hrs travel MAX to Huntsville.

Not to my knowledge.

I was going to get the 1st version flying and then ADD another wing
on the bottom just to prove a point but I have not gotten that far yet.

Now that I have mine flying better I may just go ahead and do the Bipe version.

All I expect it to do is look different and fly slower.

But I can already and easily do circles inside my runway width already.
And that is with a simple NOT built up wing
it's a piece of MPF that I UC curved and then glued a CF tube to the bottom
and then plugged that into a dihedral brace.
All of which gets rubber banded on top .

I might just start with a shorter flat wing on the bottom and see how it goes.

Do you want my CAD plans ?

Hi Bob, wouldn't mind them mate, would like to re draw them as a VERY slow back yard flier, I am moving soon to a place near a very small park and wouldn't mind having something I could fly there

Cheers mate

OK Tony I have your address so I'll try to attaché it for you.

But NOW I have tried it as a bipe "sorta" :-)
ok call me a hack , but ya gotta have some fun some of the time !

I just tossed on a short piece of 9mm depron and went for it !

It still flys ! but not much slower and not better either.

I expect that another UC wing is in order for truly slow flight
That an a proper incidence set up.
