More SMALL 2004 Pictures

The 2004 SMALL in North Little Rock, Arkansas was a great event. The weather gods were very kind considering the thrashing the DFW Metroplex got as I was getting my models ready for SMALL. Here are a few of my shots.

Richard Ng

This pic was taken at 9:30 Friday morning. Most of the flyers were there and set up on a beautiful warm party cloudy day.

I, Tom Blakeney, and Larry Askren flew our Sonic Liners in formation Saturday afternoon. Tom had built and flown his last year. Larry and I didn't have ours ready until SMALL and the formation flight was our second flight on these planes. Paul Willenborg took these pictures. A thread about our formation flight is here:

After a beautiful Friday and Saturday the weather changed early Sunday morning. A storm came through and dropped a lot of rain on the field. We got off to a slow start and didn't get to the field until 9am. Only a few people were around and there were pools of water on the field. We missed Keith Sparks flying his Martin Mars flying boat off one of these but Tom brought out his Skimmer that he had built for the Lockheed Martin Float Fly in May and proceeded to shoot 20 or 30 water landings and take offs. His thread about this plane is here:
