Adding wireless charging to a Blaster3 DLG

While taking a recent renewed interest in wireless charging (a standard called Qi - usually used with cell phones), a friend gave me some "new" Qi receivers with a USB output meant for cell phones.

On the cell phone, you simply remove the battery cover, connect the usb connector from the charging receiver, locating the receiver under the battery cover and replace the cover.

Looking at the pad, I thought it may fit inside the B3 fuse along with a USB 1S LiPo charger, so that's what I did! The charger and pad weigh a total of only 4 grams.

Now I share it with you.

1 gram 1S LiPo charger: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10...QgMBoClC3w_wcB

There are cheaper 1S chargers and ones that will also do 1 amp - assuming you had a 1 amp wireless charge receiver. These may be heavier and I have some on order to see.

WARNING: As a safety precaution to protect against over charging (fire risk) as well as to prevent loss of the battery from over discharge, I use a battery protector circuit on all my 1S LiPo's - an important part of this system. what are the pros and cons?
How do you get the charger pad in the right position if your plane is on a DLG stand?
How do you know its getting charged?

Pro's: Charge easily by just putting the plane on the pad.
Con's: Weight of 4g and some soldering.

Place the receiver pad over the center of the transmitter pad.
If on the stand, make a small shelf and attach the charge transmitter in the right place.
The charging transmitter will beep of light up an led.

I wondered about this, especially with the new zepsus switches. Would be great to be able to not have to open the canopy in order to charge or turn off the model.

I don't know, I think its a good idea to look under the hood while charging. You might find something that needs fixed if you know what I mean.
