1/192 Scale World War 2 US Navy Aircraft

Currently working on a scale USS Enterprise (CV-6 circa 44) R/C Boat.
Since this is my first carrier, I want to add aircraft but I can not find planes of either 1/96 or 1/192. Anyone know where one could find them. I want to replicate the airwing stationed on the ship at that time. I could go 1/72 but that brings the ship in at over 11feet long.

Any help in the right direction would be great. Even thought of getting scale plans of the planes and hand building but with some 60 aircraft may not be cost effective.

As soon as the keel is laid and some ribs go up i will take some pictures to share.

Try asking tour question on the "electric talk" forum. There are a lot of collectors there, especially of the planes in question.

Hi

Welcome to RC Groups

This part of the site is for electric powered flying models. so it's unlikely tht you'll find any answers here. Strangely enough the better part of the site for such a question would like be the Boat section under the Scale heading. I'll move your question there.

As regards 1/96th scale models a fellow modeller in this area (NW Enlgand) has built a magnificent 1/96th scale HMS Invincible, fully kitted out with Sea Harriers and Sea King helicopters, some of which take off on a sort vertical metal pole. The carrier is superb, with working aircraft lifts, sailors in the maintenance hanger arc welding and lots of moving parts. IIRC he made the Sea Harriers and Sea Kings himself as it isn't a common scale for plastic aircraft kits.

Your best bet, though it could be quite expensive, would probably be the diecast models, where 1:100 scale is quite common. Here's a link to a 1:100 scale F-14 turned up in a google search

http://www.diecastairplane.com/produ...5da1e3d1ab70eb

and you should be able to find more that way.

Good luck in your search.
