P-38 with FLAPS

Updated version of the P-38 incorporating flaps.
A big thank you to Acrow for the flap help.

Textured as the reconnaissance version.
Will eventually add two other schemes.

Tuned for level flight with 2/3 throttle and neutral trim.
Slows down nicely with the flaps.

Would appreciate feedback as I intend to submit this to Phoenix

NOTE: This model was updated in post #105.

Thanks! rick p

Busted ! T-38 Talon

So my wife says "and when am I gonna get my airplane?".
Her favorite plane is the T-38, so here ya go, complete with flaps and retracts.
This particular aircraft (tail number 14923) was stationed at Williams AFB, AZ ("Willie") in the mid-70's.

Enjoy, rick p

PS: You may install this model in either the Phoenix Test or Normal Menus.
To install it in Phoenix Test Menus, unzip the non-PKG file to your PhoenixBuilder\Test\Models directory.
To install it in the Normal Phoenix Menus, unzip and install the PKG file as a Phoenix update.

PBY Catalina

As stationed at Pearl Harbor in the 30's.
Everybody's favorite seaplane - mine for sure.
Note retracts for land operation, but no flaps as the Cat didn't have them.

For a more scale experience, scale up to 200% and fly on low-rates.

NOTE: This model was updated in post #1916.

Updated PBY

After excellent feedback from Acrow in a PM, I added retractable floats.
Operated with the flap switch, they add 15% drag when down and zero lift, of course.
This was not that simple to figure out, and if you're interested in the details take a look at my blog.

Net-net, the attached PBY now has both retractable gear and floats.

P-38 Collection

Four P-38 models with same airframe, just different paint.
Couldn't decide which I liked, so did them all.
THANK YOU to Altbob for his help with this project.

There is a way to represent a texture with a single file, but I have not mastered that.
My textures, as you know, are several files.

Travel Air Type R Mystery Ship

Been working on this one for a while.

Travel Air Type R Mystery Ship was a notable racer in the late '20s and early '30s.
Interesting info on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travel...R_Mystery_Ship

Most recognizable is Texaco 13, which is on display in Chicago.
Also did a black and red version for Altbob, who is a great test pilot.

Enjoy, rick p

Guillow's Starfire Glider

Started out as a texturing exercise, but ended up being something else.

Had been struggling with generating a single file textures for more complex models, so thought I'd drop back to something simple.
Like a classic Guillow's Glider.

Got it textured as intended, but it was boring to fly.
Just went straight down-hill like an uncontrolled glider should.

So added four channel control and a small electric motor to make it more interesting.
You can't see the control surfaces or faux motor as there are no meshes.

But it's a fun thing to fly, even if my wife says "that's cheating".

Enjoy, rick p
