F5J Electric Sailplane

Created for WillemV as he noted a lack of these in Phoenix.

Includes two color schemes as well as very effective flaps to slow it down for landing.
Love doing these gliders - they're quick to build and a blast to fly.

UPDATED 08/2016 - mesh error and slight re-tuning.

Enjoy, rick p

PS: You may install these models in either the Phoenix Test or Normal Menus.
To install them in Phoenix Test Menus, unzip the non-PKG files to your PhoenixBuilder\Test\Models directory.
To install them in Normal Phoenix Menus, unzip and install the PKG files as Phoenix updates.

Beechcraft Staggerwing Update

Larger scale with flaps and a new color scheme for Bravedan as he has this particular model.
Also upped the performance a bit as the original model was a bit docile.
They're much more fun to fly than the first releases.

Four versions:
- Beech UK v4.0 - Bravedan's model - registration NC12028
- Beech SW v4.0 - yellow & blue, registration NC15840
- Beech YC v4.0 - YC-43, assigned to London air attache'
- Beech TEX v4.0 - Texaco colors, 3D throws

Enjoy, rick p

Albatros D.V UPDATED

Finally got around to making my favorite WW-I aircraft, the iconic Albatros D.V.

Like it so much that I got a bit carried away with the paint schemes and made five.
But once you've make one unified texture file the rest are pretty easy.
Same with Builder - once you've created one Albatros, changing the paint is a simple matter of changing the texture file name.

Note that all five models are included in the ALL ALBATROS zip file.

Enjoy, rick p

PS: unzip files and install as you would an official PhoenixRC update

Martin M-130 "China Clipper"

Model inspired by an art-deco poster of a China Clipper flying near the Golden Gate Bridge.
Pretty aerobatic for an airliner, glides forever, and fun to tool around at about 40% throttle and full aft stick.
Pan American Airways and US Navy versions attached.

As alway, enjoy. rick p

PhoenixRC v5.5.g

Just updated to v5.5.g and it pretty much impacts all the models I've created.
Most obvious changes seem to be stab trim and elevator effectiveness.
So I'll re-tune all the models and post updates over the next few weeks.

Cheers, rick p

Rick.
I would not be in a hurry to retune your planes.
A lot of people will stay with Ver5 a long time yet, they will have trouble with your planes if you retune to Ver5.5.
Ver5.5 has a bad name as yet;see here;

Thanks for pointing that out.
So what to do for new models - tune them in 5.0, 5.5 or both?

Thanks , rick p

Turned out very nice, with the added bonus that is does a killer 3D hover with standard rates.
Tuned for PhoenixRC v5.5, though may need to rethink that given minirotor's comment in post #171.
If flying in v5.0, think you'd need to adjust stab trim and elevator throws.

Enjoy, rick p

Rick.

Wow-what a nice plane to fly[now if we only had guns and rockets to fire]
Ah-but I degress.

This Sim is capable of that sort of thing[for those interested--joy stick control mostly]
But I have hooked up a RC radio to it and tuned it to the sim and flowen with it.

Well done.

Pitts S1-S

One of the few real models that I actually own, so it seemed time to make a Phoenix S1-S model.
Yes, I know that Phoenix already has a Pitts Special, but it's not the same version and I was getting tired of pretending it was.

Three paint schemes - the traditional red & white, a red, white & blue, and a Breitling yellow and black.

Four models attached - three large scale gassers in the schemes described above, and a smaller UMX electric in red & white.
The UMX model is bigger than scale, but smaller seemed too small.

Does nice harriers, though it is a bit challenging (for me) to hover.
Also does a nice knife edge, with just a smidgen of roll coupling.

Enjoy, rick p

Robkit,

Can you be more specific?
I'm not familiar with those aircraft and Google give ambiguous results.

A few more Pitts schemes

So much fun to fly that I couldn't resist a couple more paint schemes.
Basic red on white, Christen Eagle and Curtiss Hawk inspired US Army.
